at first, I blamed the writing, but no one else's scenes are as bad as hers.

You know, I think it may be that there's a sort of earnestness there. Like, "I'm going to sing and dance to this song! I like this song! Enjoy this song with me, won't you?" that's not trying to be HAWT or campy.
I find JT can pull this off sometimes too, and I'm disturbed by that.
