I have mixed feelings about Glee. I enjoyed the pilot, but I felt that the character portrayals were not all that compelling. I thought the bits of humor were just fine, but the teacher's struggle (will he/won't he/harpy wife) were at once not at all clear and somewhat cliched.
Do they really lock up kids in wheelchairs in the portapotty? Really? They didn't even do that in the '70s in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" (the book). Did we need it to get that bad for the footballer to make the choice that he did?
Having watched it this morning, I'm also in the "amused, but not bowled over" place. I hope the kids other than the two leads also get to shine.
Perhaps it's a little on the nose as I'm currently spending the weekend waiting to get called in for a work avalanche, but I just finished watching the first season of The Loop and absolutely love it. It's very weird how much Brett Harrison's character on Reaper has in common with his character in this though, right down to the name Sam.
Yep.
The Loop
was pretty funny. The second season was different since they ditched the home characters and shifted all the focus to the workplace, but it was still funny.
Slashdot is reporting that Comedy Central has ordered 13 new episodes of Futurama.
Woohoo! (Unless it's just that the 4 OAV movies are getting cut up into episodes for reshowing.)
New Better Off Ted on ABC tonight. Yay!

Douchenozzles.
I wish I could say the surprised me, but sadly it doesn't.
Douchnozzles indeed.

It could just be publicity for SDCC.
