The Office is back on track! Michael's "I understand nothing" was another classic example of telling more truth than he realized.
Yeah, that episode was really funny. Hell, I thought it was funnier than
30 Rock,
which isn't the norm.
The teaser cracked me up so much, as did Pam's notepad messages to Michael and Michael's color code for his Rolodex ("Green means go ahead and shut up about it"). Also, Michael was surprisingly good in the meeting in the Schofield; he made me believe that he really
could
make it on his own. He may be incompetent as a person, but he does have some level of professional acumen.
He's a living example of the Peter Principle. A fine salesman who got promoted to his level of incompetence.
Yeah...it's his interpersonal instincts that make Michael a schmuck/
Interpersonal instincts with anyone who isn't like him. Including anyone of a lower status.
I gotta say I'm not really feeling the Poehler show and The Office back-to-back.
But yesterday was the first time I've ever seen the Poehler show.
It seems like a lot of mockumentary for one evening, imo.
The first episode was much, much better than last night's. I hope they keep Amy Poehler's character a true believer in the democratic process and don't let her self-aggrandize into yet another Michael Scott.
Yeah, we don't need another one of them.
I really like Amy Poehler's show, but that may have something to do with the fact that TCG has to go to meetings like in the first episode for his job. Some of the stuff isn't very far from reality.
TVShowsondvd says that the first season of The Lucy Show is coming out on dvd.
Man, I love Portia de Rossi's character on Better off Ted. She's a fantastic combination of obtuse and manipulative - you can see why she would actually be an effective manager, but when she says "You called me powerful and complimented my calves, that's all I remember", she isn't being merciful, that's really all she heard.
