Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Parks and Rec, anyone? I liked it! At least partly because I like municipal government, and spent a formative evening in my youth sitting in a meeting with my father where curb cuts were discussed in detail....

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Dang! I forgot.

I think I'll like it because I'm the sort of person who reads the local government meeting minutes. 'Cause I'm all up in local business like that.

The Amy Pohler character is loopy, but she really cares about the town and her work, and I like that. I hope the show continues like that.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I did enjoy a couple of things about The Office last night. Michael, Pam, and Ryan trying to co-exist in a tiny office. Andy and Dwight competing over Erin.

But I'm not sure I like the show's overall direction. Putting Michael's office in the same building as Dunder Mifflin feels too much like a forced effort to keep the entire cast in the picture. Charles needs a better comic angle if he's going to stay around.

I'm not a huge fan of Amy Pohler's comedy, it's probably going to be a little too close to The Office for me.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I work with Nick Offermans's brother who is in Parks, so we have TiVoed it and will be watching with great excitement. Nick's Bro is one the best guys ever and he and his wife are friends of ours. I have met Nick who is also a great person. Cool guy; he acts and also does professional woodworking, like building furniture and stuff.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

He plays the boss, right? My current favorite character. I suppose in Republican Indiana, as in Republican Texas, those are the guy who rise to management in public service.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm liking Parks and Rec so far. It's got a lot of potential. I was all excited to actually see where my local Mosquito Abatement Center is today, so I guess it's my kind of thing.

I was iffy on The Office until Pam made the sale. I was just so happy for her right then, I want Michael Scott Paper to make it somehow. And I do enjoy seeing Jim just do everything wrong, though if it goes on much longer I'm sure I won't.

In the course of discussing the current structure for television threads, it was suggested to modify the slugs (and sometimes headers) for TV bucket threads to more adequately represent what is discussed in each one. The idea behind this revision is to make it clearer when looking at the list of thread titles which shows are discussed where.

This (non-inclusive) listing would not be to restrict what can be discussed in a given thread, but rather to give an idea as to which 3-5 shows are likely to be dominant in that thread at that time. They would be updated every 4 months or so to reflect the changing network/cable seasons.

The decision as to which shows belong in the current slug will be based on bullshit consensus within each thread. When the call goes out (like now!), please discuss in-thread and then post any update or change in Bureaucracy so that the stompies can update the slug.

The proposed slug for Comedy 1 is: Thread for discussion of comedy television shows, including, but not limited to, ?, ?, and ?. [NAFDA]
Please revise and fill in relevant titles for the upcoming months and post the update in Bureaucracy.

Currently, the header for Comedy 1 is Header: This thread is for comedy TV, including network and cable shows. [NAFDA]
If this needs to be changed, please post an update in Bureaucracy.
