Jayne: Captain, can you stop her from bein' cheerful, please? Mal: I don't believe there is a power in the 'verse that can stop Kaylee from being cheerful. Sometimes you just wanna duct tape her mouth and dump her in the hold for a month.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Logically, I know that a 4 day broadcast schedule is actually very grueling, particularly because of the short turnaround time, so they need their time off, but damn, we need some kind of substitute to examine the news for us when they're OFF!

::twitches::

I mean... they have to be cursing that they're missing all the shoe jokes they could be making tonight.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

So I just learned that Rob Riggle was leaving TDS. I googled this and found this article which I found unintelligible. Is it just me?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Not just you.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

That's totally what I thought when I saw the shoe-throwing footage from Iraq.

Dear lord that was painful to try and parse.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Here is the first sentence of a review of the Box Set of The Day the Earth Stood Still on that same blog.

Earth Day detained planned seriously, comment melodramatic artiness and social science fiction TV series as well as external borders of The Twilight Zone.

Do you think the author is actually writing this himself or is he using Google Translate?

I dunno, but I think he (she?) has been sending me spam. Or has been possessed by the ghost of William S. Burroughs.

PLEASE let it be Google Translate!

Yeah, LN, TDS even did a nice "Goodbye" piece on Rob R on Wednesday (Tuesday?) night. Obviously not a bitter leavetaking -- I hope he has some good stuff lined up.

I know Sam Bee and Jason Jones have a thing coming up, but that tribute was the first I'd heard about Riggle.

Punishingly Intricate

HIMYM: the stuff about Ted and his sister was all pretty cheesy and standard sitcom-y but I loved Marshall and Robin hanging out together. Sweet but not sappy and there were some hilarious moments (the guy from the MN bar carrying the Texas interloper out like a baby made me laugh out loud).
