Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

What is even happening?

Those sillyheads and their websites. I really love them for that.

DINNER IS A BABY

Loved that. I didn't so much love how heavy handed they were when drawing the comparsion between caring for drunken Lily and caring for a baby. Not that it's not an apt comparison. It totally is. I just don't think Alyson pulled it off.

that cracked me up. loved Robin and Ted going back and forth too.

During some of the fighting, I thought they were going to end up in bed together. It's likely they will with her living there, but for a moment, I thought we were going to see that last night.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'm with you there, Cindy. Thought it was way over-the-top and sitcommy. But I still laughed.

What is even happening?

I was just talking to Angel (my editor -- not the vampire, because he's still fighting that dragon) and I think recapping a sitcom makes me look at it way more closely than I should. Sitcoms are meant to be candy, and when I'm watching it line by line, it doesn't hold up -- because it's not built for that sort of scrutiny.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Wow, that'd be a fine line to walk, making sure your editor is happy with your work, but not too happy...

Well, some hold up. Arrested Development will take all your scrutiny and then narrate around it.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

I majorly disliked Lily acting drunk because i don't think Aly really pulled it off. the baby talk voice was cute when she was supposed to be a teenager on Buffy, but she's supposed to be late twenties/early thirties on HIMYM and now it just sounds stupid.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Also, I'm confused on a meta-level about their decision not to get pregnant right away.

I am, too. Jesse.

Ha! Someone needs to COMM that. I feel silly, because I was the set-up man.

I know that it got critical acclaim, but the premise didn't appeal to me. It was that good, huh? No stupid sit-commy stuff? No slapstick?

I think at it's best (and that might be past), The Office can take the scrutiny, but for me, that's largely because of the strength of its dramatic elements. As sooon as Michael starts driving into lakes, I'm itching to change the channel, again. Don't get me wrong -- I still love it like chocolate, but chocolate is still candy.

I agree, plus it was just too much. Marshall's a lawyer. I can trust that he can get from "Taking care of a demanding drunk adult is too much work," to "Taking care of an infant is too much work for where we're at in our lives right now," without having to see quite so much of baby Lily.

Aside from those scenes, I really enjoyed the episode. Writing the recaplet just made me look closer than I would just as a fan.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

Maybe they'll then say that it's an oops?

They'll have to, right? It just seems like an odd choice, to make such a big deal of them deciding to have hot hot 100% protected sex.
