[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Fay, these stories are not helping my swoon problem, you realize this, yes?

I didn't realise all you folks were of Czech extraction. Recently? Do you speak any Czech?
Um, well for about 36 years now ;-) Seriously, at least 3 generations in the states. My sister has the family tree. AFAIK, we are pure Bohemian. I would *LOVE* to go and visit. I wish I could speak the language. Ugg. I need a sugar-momma, a benefactor, a trust fund, a winning lotto ticket, SOMETHING so I can afford to travel.

I have definitely decided not to make any potentially life altering decisions while I have PMS.
{{{{{LAGA}}}}}. that probably is for the best. On the whole, I think, no matter what, you must keep up your relationship with your sister. Be politely cold to asshat, and let the chips fall. Either way, I'd say, don't let him get to you like this. he's not worth it!

As for paint. I learned from a scenic artist friend, who asked me, a sound guy on crutches, to come help paint her new apartment years ago, then shoo'd me out as I was doing it wrong (ya think!). There is an art form to painting in a timely manner, that if you let it dry partially, and paint over it, it will have a different hue then if you paint it while wet, or after fully dry. Primer also helps. And different painting implements leave different finishes, which change the perceived hue (brush vs roller vs foam edge roller, etc).

Laga, I'm so sorry about all this mess and stress. You've gotten good advice, so I won't add my two cents.

Annabel is too adorable!

I had thesis nightmares last night--about losing important articles after something got mysteriously deleted from my final version. My brain thinks too much.

Where is everyone today? I need distraction from my Spanish!

Jars - Oct 16, 2007 3:17:21 am PDT #9899 of 10001

I was doing actual work for most of the morning. Crazy, I know. But I'm nearly finished that work now and am dragging it out so I don't have to move on to the paperwork portion of the work.

Hola, vw!

I am exhausted. Reading that article did nothing to get me into bed earlier last night, so I'm only half-conscious. Thank god I don't have to actually teach most of the time!

Hola, Emily! I wrote about you in one of my Spanish assignments. I said your birthday in Spanish (if I got it right. I always forget if it's the 27th or the 28th...or maybe the 29th).

Jars - Oct 16, 2007 3:25:56 am PDT #9903 of 10001

Good plan, Jars!

I know! And, in fact, I'm going to complain about the stupid system that is making paperwork for me.

See, the Irish government has guidelines that a licence has to be applied for every time you want to alter or export an archaeological artifact. Which makes sense. However, they also apply this to environmental material, which is stupid. So every time I want to cut up a piece of charcoal to ID it, I have to apply for a licence to cut up that piece of charcoal. And every time I want to C14 that charcoal, I have to apply for a licence to cut it up to ID it, a licence to export it to the C14 lab, and a licence for them to crush it up to date it. It is so goddamned frustrating.

Here endeth the complaint.

Good complaint! Now, let's see if I can translate that into Spanish.

Nope. Can't.

See, this is my current frustration. I don't know enough words or conjugation to actually *say* anything. So, I get frustrated and give up, which, well, doesn't help.
