Also, I've been watching the UK version of the Office, in preparation to catch up on the US version.
SO FUNNY! SO PAINFUL! David Brent is such a sad little man. It physically hurts, just about every time he speaks. The raw, flawed humanity on display is a thing of beauty. I only wish I got the jokes that reference Brit pop culture.
(I've seen about two episodes of the US version, and that's a thing of beauty too. The interaction between Jim and Pam is heartbreaking.)
Lisa, clearly this is an excuse to go shopping!
I KNOW! I've been dying to go shopping since the Fall weather arrived yesterday! I think I'll have a chance tomorrow.
I've seen about two episodes of the US version
Just two, or just two this season?
Just two, or just two this season?
I've seen the US pilot, and the first two episodes of the second season (the episode with the Dundies, and the one with the Office Olympics -- the end of that one, with the paper doves, was utterly beautiful)
I LOVE RICKY GERVAIS!!
OMG, SO BRILLIANT! It's one of the most sublime performances I think I've ever seen. I was crying during the episode with the training day, and David goes home to get his guitar and sing. Painful and hilarious, all at once.
If you haven't yet, watch
Extras
and listen to
The Ricky Gervais Show
podcasts. That man kills me ded.
As Captain Jack Harkness says, "You people and your quaint little categories."
So many species, so little time.
the episode with the training day
Now you've done it. I'm going to have to spend the rest of the day watching Free Love Freeway on Youtube.

Extras is now high on the list to watch, and since I now have an iPod, Ricky's podcasts will be downloaded shortly.

Hot love on the hot love highway / and I'm going home 'cuz my baby's gone...
She's dead...
She's not dead.
EDIT: Yeah, that doesn't work anywhere near as well in print, but man I loved that song.
