Wash: Psychic, though? That sounds like something out of science fiction. Zoe: We live in a space ship, dear. Wash: So?

Spike's Bitches 37: You take the killing for granted.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Henckles or Wustof are good, sj.

Mostly lurking...

Poor Kristin!

We actually talk the Bible at school a lot, being English majors and all. It's really quite fascinating to see what different people know. My knowledge is actually pretty blocked. It's in there, but I can't get it out and make sense of it. Wonder why that is? ;)

I need to be writing a "I'm sorry you're dying" card. I'd rather be doing anything else.

Oh, yuck.

I need to send a sympathy card to my Aunt's family. I may write my own. The ones that are out there are just so...well, trite. Or something. Me hateses them. I did finally choose one yesterday, but I still don't like it.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Sympathy cards are the worst. They're always filled with sappy sentiments and bad verse. I usually end up with a blank card.

This process is not helped by the fact that I carefully put my collection of greeting cards somewhere in a fit of organization. I have no idea where that somewhere is.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Ginger, that sucks beyond the telling of it.

All the houses we want to look at in Wisconsin are available online (virtual tours on almost all of them). And yet, I spent last evening printing up listings for 16 houses because DH "needs to see them on paper." The pictures are awful and my printer is now nearly out of ink. *sigh*

I'll be spending my birthday this year house hunting, since we're flying up to SP on Friday.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I second any of the knife brands mentioned, but the most important thing is to find the one that feels right in your hand -- it doesn't matter what the brand is if the balance is off in a way that keeps you from being able to use it comfortably. (This is one of the two reasons I hate the block set thing.)

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I want to register for a couple of good knives, but I don't really know what is good. Any recommendations?

Henckels are best for people with really big hands. I like Wustof, personally. CI likes Forschiner/Victorinox, and Alton Brown likes Shun.

Your best bet would really be to go to a Williams-Sonoma and test a whole bunch (to see which ones feel most comfortable in your hand), and then see which of the brands/models you like best are carried at Macy's.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I feel as though someone took a knife to my toe. Or a veggie peeler. Yesterday my favorite shoes gave me a huge blister on the top of my middle toe and now I can't wear any shoes that come close to touching that toe. So that rules out everything I have except....flipflops. Which are wrong like a wrong thing and yet I'm wearing flipflops at work.

Can I go home now?

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

In other news, I had a very vivid dream about Buffy and... maybe Jack Harkness? It's really sticking with me.

Ya know, I think Buffy's cookie-baking project would benefit by spending some time absorbing the heat of Jack Harkness. Yum. She could definitely stand to learn a thing or three about healthy sensuality, and who better to help her learn than the Captain of Love*.

Ginger, that sucketh so mightily.

Harvey is purring his little heart out, and keeps trying to sit on the keyboard. I wonder if he is trying to offer suggestions for things to say.

Ouch, Suzi. Hope your toe heals quickly.

  • *And by "Captain of Love" I mean, porn.
