We've already had one woman move out because she was threatened and was afraid.
Dawn ,'The Killer In Me'
Spike's Bitches 37: You take the killing for granted.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
popping on quickly. THANKS FOR THE WELL WISHES!!! :: blush::
Happy Birthday, Omnis! And how will you be celebrating the occasion of your natal day?First off, for the lovely occassion, I wore my LOUDEST floweriest Hawaiian shirt. It's my b-day, I can be loud (for once) [for thems that don't know, usually I wear subdue plain colors]. Aside from that, I am having the time of my life! Crawling under tables (no booze involved, sorry to say) pulling back cables, unplugging equipment! The joys of loading out a show. Happy that SeanK is here to help (he ROCKS). After work, a bunch of us from work is goin' bowling!
Sorry the rest of ya are having a craptastic Monday. Much ~ma thems that need it.
Sounds great Omnis!
Sigh. I don't think this job is going to be as fun with the new boss and the new space. It's not terrible or anything, but this desk is kind of awkward and crowded, and New Boss *is*, from my admittedly touchy and prickly perspective, treating me a bit too much like I'm clerical staff.
Sigh again. Dammit, this place was good for the first four months.
and the monday stuff continues-
Susan , you might want to give the new boss a bit of time- he/she doesn't know what you can do yet .
ION, my headache seems to have morphed into a minor cold. Just enough to make me sleepy. But I want to get my act together and do a nice dinner for Matt. Tomorrow is his birthday ,but we will most likely be out.
Oh, Susan, how frustrating on both fronts. Hang in there, you. I agree to give the new boss a little time.
I just picked up about $1,000 worth of meds for a $1 copay. Something doesn't seem right with that. I suppose it's possible that I've hit some max out-of-pocket expense, but that seems unlikely with how low my co-pays are to begin with. The other possibility is that my secondary insurance is picking up the other co-pay, but I didn't get any notice that they were going to start doing that. So weird.
Aimee, this is where you work, not where you live, yes?
Susan, I'm very sorry about the stress.
Aimee, I hope everything works out with the scary tenant situation.
Laga, I have mixed feelings about the mass apology. You know I don't like the guy and think his apology is all BS anyway, basically damage control because he's realizing that the situation is affecting your sister and therefore now affects him.
In terms of the multiple sendings, though, if he were truly sending an apology to the family (which is how I read it), I guess I wouldn't expect the apologies to be different. I don't think he's dumb enough to think you all wouldn't talk, so I assume that he intended the apology to be general to the family as a whole. I could be on crack, but that's how I interpreted it.
That said, I still think this entire "apology" process is a manipulation.
In happier news, I had to share with all of you a cute email the whole school just got from the student body president:
Have you ever wondered....
What makes [school name] different from other schools?
Where teachers cross dress, perform skits
and we can willingly act like fools?
To discuss how [school name]
is unique in its own way
come to the town hall meeting
in the Rose Room this Friday!
Mr. [teacher name] will be there
to lead the talk.
It will be thought provoking and magical
.............surely it will rock...
The crowds should arrive
at eleven forty five,
so you should all be there
keeping [mascot] PRIDE alive.
It is you we cannot wait to see!
With love from the members of ASB.Hee. I love this place sometimes.
KT that rocks!
Laga, give him a chance. Obviously the family feelings has put pressure on your sister, who then put pressure on Asshat. If you dismiss the attempt, it could sway Asshat to say "see, it's them that is the problem". Whereas if you go in (with grain of salt in pocket) and talk with him and accept the apology, then it shows a level of good faith on y'alls part.
Susan, if she's treating you like clerical, is that someone else's duties? Can you step up and help her with the transition, and help 'teach her the ropes'. "O, [person X] takes care of those things, I'll pass it along to them" or something like that??? Either way, {{{hugs}}} transitions are always tough.
ION, while at lunch, SeanK and Mark (co-worker, not on b.org) proceeded to get me the BIGGEST happy b-day balloon I've ever seen. Just as Sean approached the lunch table, the balloon barely rubbed the stone pillar and BURST something fierce. After lunch, they went back to the super market to get it replaced. So then the fun was them tying it to my crutch and walking in the building. Oy vey, as if I don't walk slow enough. Making sure it doesn't rub anything and POP again, and it bopping in my head! Too Frackin' Funny. I love it! Aside from that, I think I've had more sugar in the past 24 hours than I have had in the past 3 months! Last night I got an Oreo Shake for my drive into work @ 9pm. So far I've had (2) cupcakes, plus a fountain drink. O ya. Sugar high BABY! It will not be pretty when I crash ;) But fuck it! It's my Birthday!!!
Happy Birthday omnis!
I hate catching up on all the email and paperwork and such after I've been buried in a project.
