[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

What's on TV tonight?

THE OFFICE !! And My Name Is Earl.

Huh. I just LJ-defriended my best friend from college. I think I feel pretty good about this. She had never actually friended me anyway, and when I saw her this weekend, it was way awkward, since it was the first time I'd seen her since I moved here. And I have been here over a fucking year. Plans to meet up never gelled. Seeing her posts on my flist always just kind of annoyed me. It's sad, really. She was my first best friend, and my first kiss. But she's clearly checked out of our friendship since we graduated, and it's about time I really really accepted that.

I don't know how it works, really. Some people, you won't talk to for years, and when you finally do, it's just like old times and you like each other and enjoy the conversation and everything. Other people slowly drift away without letting you know they don't so much care about you anymore.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I do love the morphine!

Mmmmm. Morphine. It made all my synapses happy. And then I drunk-dialed.

What's on TV tonight?

Ugly Betty premiere!!! ::bounce bounce::

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Yeah, I have a few friends from high school who I never see unless we're all in town, and we fall right back into inside jokes and having fun.

Then, there are other people who were some of my best friends that have either changed so much I have nothing to talk to them about, or haven't changed at all so I have nothing to talk to them about.

I have one friend who went from one of my best friends to someone I didn't really want to talk to back to really good friend.

So, yeah. I don't know either.

I'm getting the pig!

Thank you for all of the birthday wishes! Y'all are so sweet, especially since I haven't been around much. Like, at all. I've been reading, though, and yaying and sending vibes where they're needed.

Worst pain was definitely the broken coccyx. That sucked. A lot.

Ok, off to get ready for a Birthday Dinner with The Aunts at Outback. Chocolate Thunder From Down Under, here I come!

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Mr. Jane would like y'all to know that getting a tattoo over your tattoo (touchup work) hurts like a motherfucker.

Hmmm. The cover-up of Chaos hurt, but I figured it was a) my mental state and b) the tat didn't want to be covered. Though, there is a reason I haven't gotten Raven touched up yet....

Yeah, pretty much.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The friendships, they ebb and flow. It can get weird when you ebb with A who's flowing with B with whom you're also flowing, but I stopped trying to remake the past or bring everyone kicking and screaming into my present.

Though I have found just about my entire Anglo social circle from university on Facebook.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I have flowers! Red roses, with a note that says "I believe in you."

I told my boss about DH's Napoleonic stripper remark, since she happened to be in the office when it popped up in my chat window and I laughed aloud. So when the flowers came she said, "No Napoleon?" I said no, but that was OK, because Napoleon didn't have that good of a body, but if it was Wellington...

Fortunately, my boss laughed, and not in a nervous "back away from the weird" way. I think I may have finally found the right workplace...

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Happy birthday, Nicole!!!

I think I may have finally found the right workplace...

Yay, Susan!!

Comcast is here and hooking me up. Yay!! Cable TeeVee!!

And, it was a short day for me today. Teacher inservice day and I was done with my meetings right at 3. This afternoon was kinda nice. All 4 district middle school drama teachers got together and went over our respective curriculae. Got some great ideas.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Happy Birthday, Nicole!

My standard for worst pain is ruptured ovarian cyst. Coming in at a close second was knee surgery and bone pain from chemo.

Fortunately, considering my considerable ability to hurt myself, my pain threshold is pretty high. When there were students who wouldn't hit the women students hard, my karate instructor would have them punch me repeatly until they got over it. (This was with my permission. I think I took kind of a perverse pride in it.)
