That's disturbing. You're emotionally scarred and will end up badly.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

you're out of the hospital? How's the noggin?

Pretty damned well, thanks for asking. They hit me upside the head (oh, I was pitching and listing--I can never thank my ride enough) with a mass of painkillers, and I woke up pain-free (and the sort of pain-free that reminds you that you have to calibrate the scale again, because what I was calling a 0 two days ago is more like a 3 on the pain scale). I'm taking it an hour at a time.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Aw, poor kid with the spelling nightmares.

ION, I am obtuse. I was chatting with DH, talking about various things that are getting me down and why (conclusion being that having dealt with various external issues, now that I'm no longer in the job from hell, my mother's cancer is in remission, etc., I'm actually having to face assorted personal issues I'd ruthlessly ignored while dealing with the outside stuff). He asked me what my address was. I was all, "My address? What do you mean? I know this place is the Pluto of the UW solar system, but my box # *is* in the campus directory." (We're both UW employees.) He said, "I mean if I wanted to send you something."

Enlightenment dawned. I think I may be getting flowers today.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Pretty damned well, thanks for asking.

That's most excellent news! I'm catching up Natter. I hope your day continues pain free.

We're having left over Chinese food for lunch and it just dawned on me. I didn't try Chinese or Japanese food until I was in college and my kids are eating with chopsticks at 3 and 19 months. Granted, Liv usually gives up and starts shoveling rice into her mouth with her hands but Owen tries so hard and is relatively successful at eating with his wee, kid practice sticks.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Does that mean you have both an iPod and an iPhone, GC? The new touch screen iPod has me all wanty. I was severely tempted to go buy one when I dropped my nano into the emergency brake housing the other day. But I managed to take the thing apart and get my precious back, instead.

Yes, I have both iPhone and iPod. I picked up the 80 GB iPod Classic. I even had my nick engraved on it! It's so cute!

Heh. DH told me I should be getting something today, adding, "Wow, it's tough to find a stripper in this town that dresses in Napoleonic garb."

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

ita, that's very good news!

Susan continues to make me laugh and laugh.

Today I got to see my father's MRI pictures. We can apparently get a copy of them, so I hope to do that before I leave. Somewhat unfortunately his next MRI is apparently 10/10, which is the day I leave to come back, so I won't get to see them in person. But again, they might be able to send me a copy, or even send the images through email or something. They didn't have the original MRI in that department, so I can't see the progress from the first to that one either. I could clearly see the areas involved in the infection. I don't know how much I'll be able to help him, but I still have some hope at helping something improve.

Sparky, we thought of putting the books in the sun, and we'll definitely attempt that as soon as we actually get some. I apparently brought the only rain they've had all year. Which actually bugs my mom more than it bugs me! Still, I have a very nice view of dusk arriving on the mountains across the way.
