And bureaucratic hell.
Hmm, I don't know that you'll escape that in the UK. But at least they'll have different accents! Seriously, though, I'm glad that you've gotten everything straightened out on this end.
I mostly pickle radishes (white vinegar, rice vinegar, salt, sugar, water, let sit overnight in fridge) and use them as sandwich toppings. But I doubt that would be a solution if the problem is "too bitter."
Hm. Well, it might be a different sort of bitter, with a little sweet in them. I might try that. Tom will eat them if I don't end up liking them, so there's nothing to lose.

Different kind of bureaucratic hell. I'm very eager to get back.
I think you can slow-cook radishes in a little bit of butter and salt. It's a twist on french, to cook them down.
Slice before pickling or whole? I love me pickled stuff,a nd have bnever thought to try radishes. Which I don't like raw, but I don't like raw cucumbers, either, and pickled cucmbers are something I occasionally crave with some seriousness.
Grest news, SA! You certainly deserve some trouble-free travelling. I hope it's much much easier than it has been.
I do not like radishes
Give the root part to someone who likes it (me if I'm there). Mix the leaves with lettuce in a salad; radish leaves are a sweet and not noticeably spicy green.
ooh, intrigued by radish greens.
Man, I love greens.
And now for a casual observation. The past few days there has been much talk of kink and sex, and I am not complaining, that's what the description for the room said, and I'm happy to see it living up to advertising ;) But, as someone who still considers himself "the new kid in town" (dunno how much longer I can claim that), I can't help but notice that the board is a few years old, and the dominate topic of conversations that was sex talk has shifted more to talk of kids. Coincidence??? I think not! ;)
It doesn't explain the cats or the play-by-play little league, however.
I hope...

Because that's what it is.
Happy Birthday, Matilda!!!

Earwormer. Now I'm stuck with "You remind me of the man." "What man?" "The hoodoo man." "Who do?" "You do." "Do what?" "Remind me of the man." "What man?" ad infinitum.
