Inara: So, explain to me again why Zoe wasn't in the dress? Mal: Tactics, woman. Needed her in the back. 'Sides, those soft cotton dresses feel kinda nice. It's the whole... air-flow.

Spike's Bitches 37: You take the killing for granted.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Dear lord, help me survive this week. My old boss finally gave me the materials for upcoming issues of our journal - which I'll be responsible for until the new person comes in (mid-September) - about an hour and a half before she left. We don't have half the information she said was ready to go, so I'm scrounging for stories and trying to get the next issue out by the end of the month so we can get back on track and get the issue after done in time for a shipping date that has no flex in it at all. In addition, we're working on a new web site ... and I was shut out of all the planning sessions, since the old boss said she'd keep me informed ... and then, didn't. So I'm supposed to have administrative access ... but I don't. And there's all kinds of things I should be able to do, but can't. And she did all kinds of things I absolutely can't change, can't find where she hid files, and we're scheduled to go live next week.

Can I has booz now?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

do you know how long it takes for a goose egg to show up, and subsequently how long it takes for a goose egg to turn into a nice, slightly puffy shiner?

It's way variable, Sean. My black eyes show up in an hour or two, but for some people it takes a night.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Happy birthday, Aimee! Great watch.

Our wings are not tired.

Sean, is it possible that S has a bite of some kind and not a bruise? The eye is so tender it would blow up like a bruise.

Now I'm considering making the pillow top as well. And maybe finishing another quilt. Just for fun. To prove a point.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

ita, if you're around, do you know how long it takes for a goose egg to show up, and subsequently how long it takes for a goose egg to turn into a nice, slightly puffy shiner?

Not ita, but I have had a goose egg/shiners show up instantly, in about five minutes. I'm an easy bruiser, though. They fade in a few days, generally.

Because books.

Completely un-caught-up, but here to say:

Happiest of Birthdays, Empress!

I hope it's squeetastic and full of cake, and the start of a wondeful year!

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Gronklies.

snorgles smonster

Sean, I tend to look like I'm getting a shiner when I have a reaction to something in my eye and/or eye makeup. Puffy, bruising, everything. It tends to go away after 36 hours or so.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, O BELOVED EMPRESS!!!!
