I didn't create the troll. I didn't date the troll. In fact I hate the troll. I helped deflate the troll-- All done.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I was thinking if the SUV is a tight fit in the garage it might be hard to open the door and squeeze in and out. Of course, I park in my driveway because I haven't hooked up an automatic door opener yet and hopping out to open the door is more trouble than it's worth, so that aspect of the story didn't strike me as odd at all.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

garages aren't for parking cars - that is where the woodshop goes.

asthma makes me feel like a lazy human being - mostly because it takes forever for me to figure out what is going on . I have one thing I wanted to get done to day - clean the dinning room. I just had no interest in doing it. So I finally convinced my self to go clean the cat box. bent over - stood up - dizzy. lack of oxygen will do that . d'oh. slow with lots of rest periods is the pace for today

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

DH just called. His first words were "I'm calling to say I'm ok". Followed by "I got hit by a big rig".

Cue me freaking out.

He is fine. His work van is relatively fine. Both the van and the big rig were going slow in traffic, so it was not as bad as it could have been.

Geeesh. I'm tired of Monday. I told him to call work to find out what their worker's comp policy is for seeing a doctor. He was checked out on scene by the firemen and proclaimed "not critical", so no ambulance ride.

okay, we have to give him credit for letting you know that he was okay before he told you about getting hit. Most guys would have done it the other way around.

He does get credit for that.

To counter that all-too-Monday news, I bring you the following...

K-Bug has her second interview at Trader Joe's at 3pm today. Some job~ma sent her way would not go amiss. She is adorably excited.

Mostly lurking...

DH just called. His first words were "I'm calling to say I'm ok". Followed by "I got hit by a big rig".

While I agree that he gets points for that, I also think that a conversation starting with those words is never gonna be good.

Poor Toto thinks my potatoes are his. Poor, poor misled puppy.

So, an interesting thing happened in class this afternoon. The librarian that was instructing us cracked a joke about how one of the students in my seminar could do her thesis on trying to prove that a particular writer, who is known as an alcoholic and drug addict, actually had borderline personality. And, it was a joke. I know it was a joke. I actually wouldn't have been nearly as offended if he had some merit to what he was saying.

Normally, I would have taken the time to educate, but it really felt out of my hands and that saying, "Actually, that's really inappropriate," would have also been inappropriate. So, I bit my tongue.

Am I over-reacting, though, to be offended? I just really felt he was furthering a stereotype, and I don't like that. Not one bit.

Yeah, I give him points for starting out with "I'm ok".

Robin, you're right! I do need that.

Today is very Monday-ish, and I don't like it at all.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I also think that a conversation starting with those words is never gonna be good.

The one time the conversation was started that way with me I developed retroactive amnesia. Totally blanked on the okay part as I freaked about the hit-by-car.

VW, I get what you're saying. I was reading a blogger diagnosing a troll with BPD, and while I understand they were talking about a really messed up person, the availability of WebMD and Wikipedia and DSM excerpts left right and centre gives people (oh, including me--page up for OCD) just enough more heft in tossing terms around that we aren't quite expert in.

I do mean to stop.

I just never do.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

vw, I don't think you are overreacting, you are simply reacting. Plus you felt that you had to bite your tongue, and that always leaves me wishing I'd said something. If the comments still bother you, you might want to talk in office hours to the professor and let him/her know.
