Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

You know it's Monday when you spend half the day with your skirt on sideways before noticing. sigh.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

A grape fell off the bunch I was eating, rolled down my thigh, bounced off the edge of the open filing drawer, and landed in the trash can. It was Rube Goldberg-esque.

Trust my rage

Today I have:

sent my iPhone to a friend who will send it to Apple for repair. Cost me $37 because "Apple doesn't ship to Puerto Rico."

spent 1.5 hours on the phone with my insurance company where it looks like I have to pay for everything but the actual repair up front because "we don't have any contracts with body shops/rental car companies in Puerto Rico."

spent 1 hour on the phone with my two medical insurance companies who say they "may" pay for my coverage if I have the baby in New Mexico, but I'll have to pay the bill and then submit a claim because "we operate differently if your plan is based in Puerto Rico."

Just another day in which I detest living here...

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

That's so bizarre. It's not like it's the at the ends of the earth.

Our wings are not tired.

I just keep pressing "0" until I talk to a person. I refuse to interact with them at all.

Vortex is me.

do you have USAA?

Actually, yes. I can't imagine how hard this would be with some other insurance company. Basically, they have all this great service that just doens't apply here because the laws are so different.

Many companies will not ship here. I'm not exactly sure why, but I *think* it's because they can't get it included in their bulk rate that they pay to UPS/FedEx/whatever.

I think a lot of my frustration has to do with expectations. If I was living in a foreign country, I wouldn't expect stuff to be the same, but this is a US territory, so it seems to me that it should be like the US.

oh, that's really frustrating. I mean, that's why military people have USAA, so they don't have to deal with this kind of bullshit. I would escalate.

Stephanie, there's companies that won't ship to PR? You just can't buy stuff from them? Jeez. That's so un-capitalist.
