Happy Birthday Aimee!
last night I went on a date with a very interesting & disconcertingly amorous gentleman who bore a striking resemblance to Mandy Patinkin.
Ooooh. That sounds so exciting! Sorry you're only feeling platonic.
'Get It Done'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Yeah, me too. I strongly feel that Fay is so fabulous, that her life should include either one amazingly, scorchingly passionate life-long love affair, or a regular series fantabulous, heated, less permanent, amicably ended affairs. Thus the Bitches would be the recipients of Fay's endearing accounts, not so much of the hot details, but of anecdotes of the brilliantly witty things that were said at outings to the theater or fine restaurants. Hmm, perhaps you could simply make up stories for us, the way Vickie Bliss writes outrageous bodice-rippers for her boss.
Erm, not that your job should be to provide us with entertainment through which we could live vicariously, Fay. We just want to know you are happy. Truly.

Aren't we due another Vickie Bliss book? Amelia Peabody seems tapped out.
Haven't we been due a new Vickie Bliss book for about 10 years?
Happy birthday Aimée!
Happy Birthday, Aimee!!! I hope you have a birthday fit for an Empress!
First World Rant:
I don't think my office is getting cleaned today, since I'm in it doing work. I don't think they like it when I'm home while they clean. Well, when they give me a 9-3 window, I can't necessarily be gone that whole time. I don't really care about the office not getting cleaned today, but it's a little frustrating. I pay for it to get cleaned, dammit!
Also, they sent a new person. Again. They are supposed to notify me of that so I can be home to introduce new people to Toto. Fortunately, Toto's not here, and I was home, so it's not an issue, but it still upsets me. I think they're getting a nasty phone call this afternoon.
Erm, not that your job should be to provide us with entertainment through which we could live vicariously, Fay.
But she does it so well!
Happy birthday, Empress!

Good Girl Deserves a Good Robot for Herself
Something about a pretty girl in the company of an imposing robot spoke very dearly to the hearts of readers and movie-goers of the Fifties' Space Era. Chrome was at the height of industrial fashion, and the curvy reflective plates of friendly (and not so friendly) robots played well against curvy shapes of the poster girls.
I planned to do this homage to the 50s style for some time, being partly inspired by illustrations from collectible science fiction pulp magazines, and partly by such sites as Fogonazos, or World of Kane with their own collections. So here is the first part of "Futuristic Ladies" post (the next one will feature space girls). Most images are promotional shots for the "Forbidden Planet" movie (1956) with Anne Francis, rare shots from various 60s TV series and, of course, art from vintage SF magazines.
