Jeez, don't get all Movie of the Week. I was just too cheap to buy you a real present.

Dawn ,'The Killer In Me'

Spike's Bitches 37: You take the killing for granted.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Congrats on the good fortune borne of your prodigious talent ND.

I've skimmed to the degree I'd have to actually call it 'flew over' the last 300 plus posts since Friday when I left for the retreat.

Thanks so much for the taping recommendation d. I've written to the Kinesio Association for a local contact.

This seems like serendipity. A massage therapist told me this weekend that the 'injury' isn't in the swollen ankle or foot. Rather, the swelling is just a gravitational response to a muscle problem higher up. The taping method might get me back on the road with my training!

In news of my neurotic issues with leaving Bartleby...the woman who kept him is, indeed, an angel. She slept on the couch the first night so that he would not be lonely (completely unnecessary, but sweet) and then let him sleep in bed with her the next night. I can't GET him to sleep with me...he patrols all night if he is not in the crate. I guess, since I wasn't there, he didn't need to be on duty.

The woman's sister came to visit, just to meet him and apparently the entire family has been emailing pictures of him all over the country.

It's a wonder I even got him back!

When I walked in the door, there was an "I thought you were DEAD!" pause before he nearly knocked me down. After much franticness, he pressed himself up next to me and seemed to say "This is my person. Yup. Here she is. My person. This is her."

Such a relief to know I can leave him if I have to. But? No plans to in the next 5 more years!

Oh, and the retreat went really well.

The status is NOT quo.

You didn't want to discuss your boyfriend's underwear?
There are not enough ways to say "no."

Bonny, I'm glad you had a good retreat and a happy reunion with your pup.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

EpicTangent, are you lurking?

Not this weekend, I wasn't. (Accounting homework eating brain).

I'm going to be in San Diego for a couple nights the week after next, one night of which I was hoping to do the dinner thing.

Eeexcellent. Insent to your profile addy.

How's everybody? Can't say I've missed you, 'cause I do lurk faithfully, so I see you most every day, but I miss talking and hanging with you ever so much.

But hey, the "Principles of Information Systems" class that I went dark for ended well - I got an "A" and was first in class rank. (Which is such unnecessary info for the teacher to provide, but I was extremely chuffed by it anyway). Now to hope and pray that this semester's Accounting and Economics will go half so well. (Why do I gotta get a "sensible" degree anyway? I had such fun getting the Liberal Arts one. This Business stuff is No Fun).

Hugs to all! With glitter! And Chocolate!

Now tagless for your comfort.

How's the Oktoberfest? I love love LOVE me a good Oktoberfest beer.

DH is all over the Sam Adams Oktoberfest. I love this time of year--we get Oktoberfest beer (which I love, too) and pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks. Next comes pumpkin ice cream at Graeters and pumpkin pie from Just Pies.

Today we managed to:

Drop Owen off at preschool
Go to Toddler Zone
Trip to the comic book store
Library to pay fines and pick up my held copy of Spook Country
Pick up Owen from preschool
Gas up the van
Trip to Sams Club for bulk items

I'm verra tired.

Thanks Kristin, there is much relief all the way around. Now, my thoughts must turn to crafting a new website as nice as yours!

Cash, it seems like you have all sorts of reasons to be tired!

I just ordered a pumpkin spice latte and I don't like it. Too sweet for me. I was, however, thrilled to see pumpkin butter at Trader Joes over the weekend.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Cute Annabel story of the day...

Me: Daddy's birthday is this weekend. What should we get him?

AB: Cake!

Me: Yes, it wouldn't be a birthday without cake. We'll go to Cupcake Royale. What else should we get him?

AB: (after a moment's thoughtful pondering) More cake!

I don't add sugar to lattes, so the flavored ones always seem sweet to me. For the same reason, I can never enjoy frappaccinos.
