Inara: Who's winning? Simon: I can't tell. They don't seem to be playing by any civilized rules that I know.

'Bushwhacked'

Spike's Bitches 37: You take the killing for granted.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Things changed.

Yeah. Time was, I was wanting to be in the ministry myself, one way or another. But over the years I sort of slid into the opinion that God simply does not work the way all too many people say S/He/It does. I'm pretty sure that The Divine is a much hoopier frood than that.

Our wings are not tired

Yeah, I came to the conclusion that God simply does not work.

"I am the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world"

If you could blend little children into cuteness juice that little girl is made from concentrate!

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

But I got directions from a book, peeked in the window and rather like it.

...dude! Did you come find us because of the Lobby book?

!!!!

That's fabulous!

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

While we're grilling you, your login wouldn't by any chance have to do with TMBG, would it?

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

yup, pretty much

Oh, excellent.

WRT the religion issue, I still consider myself to be Christian, but I don't think the blowhards who are co-opting our government would consider me as such. Which is fair enough, because I think that by calling themselves "Christian" they make Jesus want to puke.

My big problems with religion (of any stripe, from Christian to Shinto to Wicca) is not so much God, or gods, but with the people who use other peoples' faith/devotion/fear/hope/etc. in order to gain power and manipulate others.

I'm pretty sure that The Divine is a much hoopier frood than that.

Yes. This.

In other news, my morning started off well. I'd set up the coffee maker to start at 5:00 a.m. All well and good, except that I forgot to put the carafe in the coffee maker. I got to mop up lots of wonderful smelling coffee that I could not drink. Quelle torture.

Ah, well. The other pot should be done by now.

I'm pretty much as atheist as it's possible to get, though I did grow up in Ireland, so the 'Catholics aren't Christians' thing is cracking me up. I'd love people to try that one on over here.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Oh glorious day. Not even 9am and already I've had to threaten tenants and be angry McCFOpants of the Upper Westside Pants.

At least I have really good coffee this morning. That was FREE!!!
