Still not able to get ahold of HR guy. Left a message...I think. It beeped. I left like, ten seconds of a message, then there was the automatic voice saying something, and I have no idea what happened. Ah well. Will have to call him tomorrow.
Is the HR guy in Seattle, meara? If so he may yet call you back. If he says starting salary is not negotiable, don't forget to ask if you can have a performance review in 6 months where you could get a raise. Remember, they want you, they want you to schelpp x-country, and I can't believe that any company doesn't expect to be negotiated with these days.

Well, he just called me back from his cellphone (tricksy man! has a different area code!) and I gave it a shot, and he said he'd talk to to the people tomorrow and look at it (and blah blah blha, have to make sure it's similar to people with similar titles/experience, blah blah blah). So fingers continue to be crossed.

My car is fixed! I spent today on the bus trying to get to places that might have a bolt that met the specs--Grade 8 metal, specific length. The car place didn't have one, the building supply place didn't have one, Home Despot did. Hubby installed the new bolt, and I took it on a brief drive to make sure all the pedals works.
I had made arrangements for a ride tomorrow, but I have not been able to confirm one-to-one that specifics--such as my address--are in the possession of my ride. I stupidly did not get his non-work number to tell him I don't need the ride. Unless he happens to check his voice mail at work, he doesn't have my address. That voice mail also has my home phone number, which he hasn't called. He lives near me, but he leaves half an hour after I do (supervisors in offices have more leeway than tech support with defined shifts). I'd rather drive myself, but I hate to not be here in case he stops by.

My aunt is doing a big Persian dinner Friday night and my dad is taking us all out to PF Changs Saturday night. Beyond that....no clue. I have never spent more than a few hours with the folks from my dad's side of the family. And it is just me, no kids to hide behind.
But still - 4 days AWAY!!!!!
