One kid down, one to go. K-Bug is taking a zero period class, so we dropped her off before 7am. I got a kiss and everything in full view of the school.

Now CJ and I are hanging out until it is time to walk over to his school.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Heh. It's 9pm in my world. Cracks me up that y'all are having breakfast!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm teaching my first class of the semester in an hour. It's going to be just a few minutes, probably -- it's scheduled as a session for going over any questions about the previous week's material, but since it's the first class of the week, there's really nothing to do the first week other than go over a few boring administrative things.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Grrrr. My in-laws are keeping the kids overnight and my twin sister is keeping the kids for FIVE nights. My elder sister, who insisted she would help, who took time off of work and swore she would help us out is now giving me grief and futzing on her promise to help.

My twin is a lawyer who works long hours. It says a lot for her and her boss for her to be taking as much time off of work as she is (especially since she took a lot of time off to get married this summer).

My elder sister really just needs to cover one 24 hour period, which she promised she'd do.

Now I'm in full panic mode because we have to take the kids to Indiana tomorrow and I realize what I'm expecting of people in taking two toddlers for a week.

brillig

Car-ma and ride-ma, please. The bolt that holds the clutch pedal to the car snapped, and that makes Mr. Car pretty worthless. The bus system in this town is pathetic, and the closest stop to my work is a mile away on the other side of major road construction.

I would love taking the bus! It takes more time, but I don't have to worry about driving! The people who can give me rides all have slightly different shifts, and I hate making them wait till the end of my shift till they can take me home.

I don't know how easy a fix this is. I need a new car ASAP, but the fundage is just not there. The universe is just getting snotty with me, now.

Oh dear.

Much -ma to you both, Cashmere, Connie. Ick.

Nekkid Fay?

Oh again dear! I seem to be giving myself a reputation! Well, in the UK sense, I am wearing pants. In the US sense, not so much.

(...the thing is, it's so bloody hot here that as soon as one gets home, A/C and nekkidness is The Way To Go. afaic. Er. Although on this occasion I am comparatively decent. Er.)

Punishingly Intricate

Ahrgh, Cash! I hope older sister gets her act together and you guys can relax totally on your trip.

These may not be as pretty as many of the flats out there, but they are the most comfortable shoes EVER. Like slippers. And they look cute on and go with my work clothes. I bought them in the "toffee" color.

I love those Sketchers. I would get them in the toffee too but the one pair of Sketchers I have are so stinky I fear they make them with something that reacts badly to my feets. Nothing makes the stink disappear! It's very tragic.

OH! And speaking of shoes, RAQ! I totally got the shoes you sent and have failed to acknowledge that and thank you! I = Rude. They are very sophisticated. I'm not sure if they quite fit me. They are a little tight on my big right foot. But I may be able to stretch them to fit. I'll need to try them on some more.

I am back in the office today after a week off. Vacation at Home and then trip to NC to see family. Brain has atrophied. I don't understand this whole "work" thing and why I have to do it.

Also, I am very, very chubby and bleh after a week of NO exercise and much eating of bad things. I need to start an austerity plan! Last night went well with brown rice sushi & seaweed salad. But I failed to make lunch today. And was too sleepy to get up and walk. I fail at being austere!

Trust my rage

My elder sister really just needs to cover one 24 hour period, which she promised she'd do.

This is so stressful! My MIL started doing the same thing to me when she was supposed to watch Ellie when I went to GA. Thankfully that fell through. I hope your sister comes to her senses - 24 hours with two toddlers can't kill anyone (I don't think.)

connie, car~ma! I hope it's an easy fix.

move out and draw fire

Oh I hope they can fit you - I love them, and always felt like I should be riding the Metro in Paris in the 1940s when I wore them.

I committed to starting a workout program at work today. So my colleague brought in a gorgeous sachertorte. We were all sort of admiring it, and one of the guys said "That frosting is like half an inch thick!" Quoth the baker, "That's how I roll."

We had a weekend of much gaming. I'm getting better with the Xbox, but I still feel like I'm trying to drive a game using an Etch-a-Sketch.
