[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Guess what I'm wearing? A Diablo Sound T-shirt! And it's KEWL.

Oh NOES! I've just reached the end of xkcd. Which webcomic should I read next?

Schlock Mercenary!

Re: rings, I would need something to make an engagement feel real. I need ceremonial rites of passage. It wouldn't have to be anything expensive, just something special. Though I'd like to have rings, I don't care about expensive stuff, I'd rather spend the big bucks on a cute little house or a wonderful vacation. But yeah. You say yes, you're engaged, that's it. Special presentations after the fact are anticlimatic. Unless it's a wild party, which is always appropriate.

I don't like the traditional symbolism behind the rings, but a thing can mean something special to a person despite whatever it used to mean when the tradition got started.

And if I'm going to get a gemstone, I'd rather a created stone or an antique. I want to love the thing without wondering if it ever killed anybody.

My engagement ring is a star ruby. Set in silver ivy leaves and nestled next to a small skull

That's wonderful.

What year is cool, entertainment electronics?

Every year!

Miss Manners says that you don’t congratulate the woman, you congratulate the man, but wish her the best.

"Congratulations, you bastard, you finally trapped one! All the best, dear, you'll need it!" WTF?

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

The Tale of Paul and Barney is the cutest thing ever.

Sparky's student, however, is as dumb as a box of rocks. Seriously.

GC's flats are so sugar. I want the ones she posted today.

The new job continues apace. One thing I've discovered is that lesson plans for middle school take significantly less time than lesson plans for high school. Add in the fact that I'm teaching a subject I know REALLY well (drama) vs. a subject that I know just not as well (English) and I got all my planning for the week done in less than an hour. And I have 4 preps. Woot!

I have one class that continues to test me, but I'm making headway. Baby steps, I suppose. I hope I'll have them whipped into shape by Friday. Of course, one of the nuts was in in-school suspension today because he shaved a gang symbol into his hair over the weekend. He won't be let back into classes until he gets a hair cut.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I worked from home (read: finished homework assignment that's due tomorrow) this afternoon and got the brainstorm of lighting a candle. Dude - it is awesome! I love candles but never think to light them in the day. This lovely vanilla scent filled my office and made the work go quickly. Yay for candles!

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I have achieved makeup! The girl wasn't too keen on me actually applying it in the store but she gave my lots of tips and encouraged me to try everything out tonight. I also went shoe shopping in hopes of finding some cute rubber soled flats and ended up with a new pair of docs and some converse all stars with crossword puzzles on them! After that I went resale shopping in hopes of finding some plain clothes that fit the dress guidelines. In addition to some dresses that I have no shoes to go with I also found some incredible stuff which I also cannot wear on the show. Yummy sushi pajamas! A frederick's of hollywood corset! (for $2.50!) Now if I can just figure out whether the laces go in front or in back. If they go in back I will need to grow more boobies.

ND, the shirt looks really good. The logo is perfect, just the right size (and sits on top of my boobs instead of directly across them like a target, thanks), the shirt seems good quality, and the printing seems to have been done very well. They did you proud.

Thrive to spite them

I made it through my first day without my supervisor. It was hard for me. But then I went to get some frozen dinners for tomorrow and I ended up in Ross and bought a cute and super comfortable dress that I'll probably wear next week. Although I think it might be a teensy bit cleavage for work (it's got a v neck) but it doesn't look right with a cami underneath so I'll have to see if anyone objects.

Actually at the end of the day my Big Boss said that she might do some reorganization of responsibilities and I may end up with some more administrative duties.
