Buffy. When I saw you stop the world from, you know, ending, I just assumed that was a big week for you. Turns out I suddenly find myself needing to know the plural of 'apocalypse.'

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

She expected it to still be there?

Apparently!

I asked about sending a message to the student body to let them know to watch their things and was told I could not because that makes us look bad and upsets the students who pay heaps of money to go here.

So, I expect Mr or Miss thief to come back tomorrow and see what else is lying around.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

engagement rings: I've known more guys that engagement rings were more important to them. The explanation that I got was that by saving the money and spending it on something for her was a big commitment gesture for them - and in some cases, proving that they could save money - proved to themselves that they were ready for the responsibilities of married life.

My engagement ring is diamonds, but the diamonds came from Matt's grandmothers' rings. His mom had them reset for whichever son got engaged first. So, I like that it has some family history

Trust my rage

I totally do not think you are responsible and the student sounds very dumb, but this:

because that makes us look bad and upsets the students who pay heaps of money to go here.

seems like it could easily turn into, "but it's totally your fault because you knew there was a thief and you didn't warn us!" which is still pretty damn flimsy.

I am so bored, but I can't leave work for another hour and ten minutes.

On the plus side, the first year students seem to have gotten the message from orientation because they've been checking out the laptop locks from the Circ desk like crazy.

We've changed some of the signs to read "Theft Alert!" but you know who reads signs? Nobody!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

So, I expect Mr or Miss thief to come back tomorrow and see what else is lying around.

At least someone can be expected to behave sensibly.

Thrive to spite them

I start my class tomorrow! I'd planned on reading the first two chapters this weekend, instead I mainlined Smallville fic. Seriously, one minute it wasn't even 8 pm on Saturday, the next it was 1:30 am Sunday morning and I was reading some mediocre long ass fic with bad formatting. I was squinting trying to make out the words and forgetting I could turn the style off on Firefox. I finally drug myself away but it hurt. And Sunday when I should have been going over to dad's, I was all in "just one more story, just one more paragraph, just one more link" mode and barely drug myself away for that.

ION, I have broken my personal "no b.org at school this year" rule after only four hours of being back. Well done, me!

I'm much more dedicated than Kristin. I lasted six hours and thirteen minutes. But there are so many students. You either have to turn to B.org or sit in your office mumbling "the horror, the horror" all day.

I haven't had a chance to check lj or email yet. I'll probably look at it. One story! Just one! Because I won't be able to read any fic tomorrow. And then I'll read my chapters, they are fairly short and I've skimmed them already.
