So there is something I can do, besides scream like a woman?

Spike's Bitches 37: You take the killing for granted.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Thanks! And I know this is the tough point in a new job. I've been here almost 3 months, long enough to get the basic routine and to feel like I should know everything. But we're on an annual cycle, for one thing. And there are all sorts of little things that just weren't part of my training or the info J. left for me. The latest was that I'm supposed to invite a group of people peripherally affiliated with us to the summer end-of-unit party this week, and I hadn't had the slightest idea I should do so.

If no one tells you, and you don't even have enough information to ask, than it is not your fault. You're way too hard on yourself.

I'll throw in my two cents too, and say it's good to see your pixels again regularly, Susan.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

You're way too hard on yourself.

Yeah, one of my habits. But I'm not so much angry at myself as frustrated at having to play frantic catch-up every time one of these things I didn't know about jumps out at me. I like to do my day job at a stately, measured pace, so I can save the frantic bursts of energy for my writing! Anyway, I know they like me and think I'm an asset to the department, so that's a plus.

it's good to see your pixels again regularly, Susan

Thanks, Sean!

Funny because it's true!

Oh, and GC? Ross Dress for Less has some super-cute shoes right now. I now have black ballet flats with sparkly silver skull buckles.

I'm a total whore for heels!

Again, thanks for all the well wishes. I haven't heard anything new, but I plan on calling K tonight to see what she knows.

IObutjustassuckyN: L's soon to be ex tried to break into the house while she was out of town this weekend. He broke in the house and broke the door frame. She thinks he came back later and nailed it back, but it's a mess. She called the police and filed a report, but since he owns the home it's not against the law. Her lawyer said she could have him thrown in jail on contempt charges, since the house is mutual property and he tried to destroy it, but that could complicate her life even more.

Slightly better, the thing went into default today so he doesn't have a say anymore, she just has to wait out the month that Texas requires. Her counselor is also trying to get her emergency funds to get out of the house if she's unable to sell it right away.

I am undecided about going to get a drink after work.

Frazzled monday. Then I find out, the company baseball season tickets seats for tonights game that they held out to sell haven't been sold. It's my fav team, Yankees in town vs Angels. They want full face value for them. They know how much I don't get paid. Plus, I can't leave work early to go to game. Too much to do.
