I took Emmett shopping for school clothes today. He got new shoes and the Footlocker guy talked me into getting these gel heel inserts that Emmett declares to be super comfy.
Then we saw the Simpsons movie (again). Played Time Crisis (first person shooter) game at the Starcade.
Then we got fresh made cream puffs from Papa Beard's (super delish - you can watch them pump the cream in!
t /porn)
Then we picked up boutique soda (Dublin Dr. Pepper and Virgil's Root Beer).
Then we picked up my paycheck and he's now playing his Nintendo DS.
He declares it to be a truly great day.
Is espresso vodka full of caffeine?
Eta: hooray for Emmett's great day! It does sound pretty good.
Yay for Emmett's day. I'm sorry he's seeing so much of life (the bad) so young. But on the other hand I think he's seeing a great deal of life (the good) young as well.
Oh, man, I'm jealous. I've been whimpering over that cream puff place for a while now.
My spectacular day: Um. I got rid of a metric assload of work and my desk is kind of sort of clean now. However, I still have two absurdly overdue projects not even touched, let alone started, much less done. Why am I like this?
Must be the lack of cream puffs.
I just had a hootenanny pancake. It was awesome. And very Buffy/Buffista-like. I feel the need to make one (or 20) for brunch sometime.
I don't even know what that is and I want (you to make us) some.
It's fanfuckingtastic. It's a family recipe of my SIL's. It reminds me of an apple pancake, but without the apple and SO yummy.
Oooh, that sounds like it might be like the german pancake we have for xmas breakfast every year. It's in the cookbook. I think.
Oh, I bet it is. I'll have to look at that when I get home.
Owen was in the backyard by the fence and got eaten alive by mosquitos because I forgot to put insect repellent on him. I sprayed the yard last night but I suspect that here is some standing water in our trash cans that has created the mosquito problem in the back corner.
I'm going to go to Lowe's tomorrow and get a fogger for that corner.
Poor kid welts up like I do--which is to say A LOT. I gave him some liquid Benedryl.
Up until the last two weeks, we'd had a dry summer and few bitey bugs. But since it's been rainy and humid, it's like Malaria Central.
