[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hec--here's wishing stage one, no-chemo-required cancer to her.

I'll drink to that. Thanks, all.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

here's wishing stage one, no-chemo-required cancer to her.

What Robin Said. And peace and strength to Karen and everyone who loves her.

Andi, I think everyone pretty much told you the good wheat-free stuff. One thing to be wary of, weird stuff, like sour cream, salsa, ice cream, all kinds of foods, can often have wheat-gluten in it. Since the FDA started requiring that things be labeled more clearly, it's less often found, but it's still out there.

Also, I second the quinoa rec. It's good stuff.

I've actually almost caught up on submissions, have only two projects slightly due to overdue, and had time to read some of the board today!

Also, one of our authors was reviewed on the "Dear Author" blog and the review was picked up by Reuters and posted on their site and on the USA Today site. Woot!

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Oh, damn Hec. All kinds of ~ma to Karen.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Deena, that is AWESOME news.

Hec is in the front bedroom snuzzling with Matilda, who is giving him much comfort (she's going through a phase right now of preferring him if she's got both of us around to choose from -- I'm okay with it, really, and right now it's lovely for him to have a tiny creature smiling and loving him and just basking in his presence).

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'm sorry to hear that, Hec. As far as I am concerned, breast cancer is on the list. It's been cropping up too often.
