Look, Angel, I know you've been out of the loop for a while, but I'm still evil. I don't do errands...unless they're evil errands.

Art Crawl!!!

Hey, I'm going to try the baking soda, vinegar, hot water method of drain cleaning and I've googled and found a number of different recipes: 1 cup baking soda, 1 cup hot vinegar, followed by hot water or the same only w/o making the vinegar hot or much lesser amounts of baking soda and vinegar followed by lots of hot water.

Has anyone used this method and how much baking soda, vinegar and hot water did you use?

Thrive to spite them

I use this method, mostly for my bathroom sink that clogs fairly often.

I don't have an exact recipe, I generally push in half cup of baking soda at a time and then pour vinegar over it until it really bubbles. I wait for the bubbling to subside and when it does if there's still baking soda left I push it down the drain again and pour on more. Then I run the tap to clear it, but I never use hot water.

Okay.

It really looks like any version works so long as it's baking soda, then vinegar then water.

Now tagless for your comfort.

sumi, I sprinkle baking soda in my kitchen drain followed by a big squirt of lemon juice. When it's done bubbling, I run hot water through the drain. Not a recipe, per se and no measurements.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I use the askye method.

I'm going to plug one sink with a towl do the baking soda, vinegar thing - plug the other sink. Put the kettle on to boil, wait and then unplug one sink and pour the hot water down the drain.

I had to run some errands (including picking up baking soda and vinegar) and I'm just wrung out since. The bank said it was 88 but it is HUMID. I drank a quart of gatorade without even trying.

And now it's kind of storming so I'm going to get offline.

Thanks!

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I use the baking powder and boiling water method: half a cup or so of baking powder and a teakettle of boiling water.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

if you have any drain that clogs regularly - baking soda and vinegar down the drain once a month helps keep them clean

We had breakfast a the fancier cafe in town - with my sister and BIL - cherry pancakes or eggs Benedict on crab cakes....mmmm. The we went to the art and wine festival in ton. Every year it is broilingly hot. not this year. I think my sister brought the fog from Pacifica

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I've used bleach in my drains ever since a plumber told me that commercial drain cleaners eat your pipes. He says they eat away at his snake when he's called in after the commercial product fails!

grape nuts: I was scared by a puppy this morning. I didn't know she was in the house and I was typing on the puter when this fluffy white shape trundled into my field of view. Pua (our resident dog) was quite shocked as well and seemed about to attack and drive off the intruder when she realized it was a puppy and softened up. Still we had already told the roomie that we can't have another dog (Pua has a history of reacting with fear and anger to other dogs) so I'm a bit perturbed he brought her home anyway. Especially since this really weakens the argument I was poised to have with both em boyos about why we should take in a little black and white kitten who is looking for a home. harrumph.
