'War Stories'

Spike's Bitches 37: You take the killing for granted.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Glucose tablets work well

Yeah, but so do Tootsie Rolls, Caramels and any other easy-to-store sugary chewy candies, without the high cost of the glucose tablets.

Glucose tablets are one hell of a moneymaking scheme. "lets sell sugar to diabetics!"

Hard candies that can be crunched to speed the delivery like the lifesavers Hil mentioned work too. I have a tube of stark lozenges in my glove box. They'll keep for years...

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I have learned my lesson. I Will Not Skip Meals.

OK. Now, I'm off to get dressed and go get some boring healthy regulate-blood-sugar food. Oatmeal, probably. I'm craving a blueberry scone, but I'm aware that that would be a Bad Idea. And I've got lunch plans -- Indian buffet with some friends -- so that's two meals taken care of. Which, really, is two more than I had yesterday, since lunch was half an apple and a bit of cheese.

I know not to skip meals. I'm smarter than that. And yet, if I'm not particularly hungry at the time when the meal is generally eaten, it kind of slips my mind until I'm about to faint. Need to work on that.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Deena, Kara and Aidan are adorable ... and getting so big! I can see her as a pirate queen (princess for the moment). They looked like they were having so much fun.

Kristin and ND, sorry the craxy cat rescue people turned you down. I know indoor cats have longer, healthier lives ... but a little outdoor time is good for them (good for people, too!), especially if supervised. My sister would let her late kitty out for supervised playtime - she was elderly, overweight, declawed, down to two teeth and one eye - and managed to live to a ripe old age.

Hil, glad you had something to get your blood sugar up. And, yes, there are coyotes in the area - not in your neighborhood (yet), but they've moved in. And there have been a bunch of bear sightings in the 'burbs. I once saw a possum outside my building. The eagle sounds ... unnerving for early in the morning.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

On the North Shore in MA, coyotes attacked the lamb flock on the farm we go to. Suki the guard dog was put to the task; she killed the coyote who just killed a lamb.

We got our lamb shares shortly after that.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Low blood sugar is bad. I'm firmly against it.

The biggest decision I'm going to make today: Take the kids to the grocery store or the gym?

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Gronkies. Sleep did not come easy and the alarm seemed to delight in interuppting what sleep I had.

Sorry about the school-angst last night. I just hate that I'm undermining myself by turning in assignments late, yet I have been allowing it to happen week after week.

So, it's Tuesday, eh? Lovely.

Punishingly Intricate

{{lisah}} from a couple of days ago. what asshat wanted to mess with your window. I send you Dominik West for protection.

Aww thanks! I have no problem with a little Dominic West in my house! Although he is a tiny little actor man and I'd end up protecting him if danger arose.

And, Raq, no worries about the shoes! I was a little concerned they might have been stolen off my porch so am relieved you hadn't sent them yet.

I have an inappropriate crush and it's making my tummy ache. Feelings suck!

Oh, I love that! Thank you for sharing!

Hil, I'm glad you're doing better. Definitely pick up some quick and easy food.

Suzi, sorry about the school-angst, but glad you got the paper done. Hang in there, hon. I need you to be finished when I'm going through my last year, so you can say, "Remember how freaked out I was? And I did it, so you TOTALLY can!"

So, it's Tuesday, eh? Lovely.

Tuesdays were so much better when there was new Buffy to look forward to!

For the parents here: Mattel is recalling a bunch of toys.
