"Dick in a Box" wins Emmy. [link]
Ah, and finally we see quality entertainment receiving its due....
(Actually, "Dick in a Box" might qualify as an evocative title.)
(I think that posting that, rather than some esoteric short-story title, might just have made Hec decide to unfriend me, for lo, I am a white-trash Philistine.)
(But! *Dick*! In a BOX!)
Why are suspicious/unconvinced babies so hilarious?
T had an adversarial relationship with the lions on his playmat and bouncy chair. I wonder what it is about lions.
Although I am tempted to name her Miss Dashwood... *grin*
'suela, what a beautiful dog!!! My bff's cats that she got this summer (through separate, closely spaced stray cats showing up on porches incidences) are Miss Dashwood & Colonel Brandon!
sarameg, I thought I was missing my comics but they were stuck inside like an ad for an assisted living place, maybe? Or a supplementary sports section or something.
I had crazy news at my family reunion yesterday which was that my older brother and his wife are expecting a baby!!! They'd talked about adopting for a long time but never said anything about having a baby biologically. They're not very information-sharing in that way. So it's totally shocking news. But cool. My brother will be an awesome dad. Also, they live pretty close so NIECE IN THE STATE! WOO!
OMG, that Noah!
bon, can you get to LJ? I left you a present over there.
That's exciting, lisah! I just found out my cousin's pregnant, which is also exciting, if not so local to me. So of course I got all excited walking through Target yesterday seeing all the awesome cuteness to be bought.
Happy Birthday, Nutty and Spidra!
Sumi, thanks for the puppy link! So cute! One of the things I really love about GSDs is their satellite-dish ears. Magda's are a very good cue for how she's feeling, especially when we're out walking in the scary neighborhood, where there might be cats and dogs and other terrifying things!
(Yes, she's a wuss. We're working on that.)
David, I've always rather liked All the Lies that are My Life, which was what Harlan Ellison claimed he would title his autobiography. I am fond of Getting Used to Gunfire, which is the title of an X-Files story I wrote once. I just like the alliteration and the images it conjures up. (It's pulled from that Talking Heads song "Life During Wartime", naturally.)
Okay, *real* evocative title: Blood and Chocolate. (The album.)
Happy Birthday, Nutty! Happy Birthday, Spidra!
All the Buffista babies are, as usual, killing me ded with the cute.
Lisah, congrats! How much fun to have a local niece!
ETA: Suela, have you thought about enrolling her in some kind of training or socialization class? In time, that really helped one of my girls calm down about the big, scary world.
lisah, that's so cool!
If there were comics, hopefully the neighbors I give the paper to at least find them. Too late for me.
Time to grocery shop.
