Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Also, it's the 50th anniversary of the Edsel. [link]

This week marks the 50th anniversary of the introduction of The Edsel, Ford Motor Company's iconic failed auto... From Edsel.com:

"Released into a nation struggling with a weak economy and fears of the Soviet satellite flying high overhead, the Edsel rollout couldn't have had worse timing. Combined with an undersupplied dealership network, radical styling and overhyped publicity, the 1958 Edsel undeservedly became a symbol of failure that endures to this day."

An assessment I agree with. (I happen to like the Edsel's styling.) The mid-price car market collapsed between the time they decided to produce the Edsel and the time it actually hit the market. In fact, the Edsel actually achieved the percentage share of the mid-price car market they were shooting for.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Happy Birthday, Nilly! You deserve all the happiness of the day.

Silly tommyrot. Every day is a happy holodeck day!

Only if you have a holodeck. And, you know, decide to do happy scenarios.

Also, did anyone ever use a holodeck for sex? Which seems to me to be the most obvious use....

That's what the holosuites on DS9 were for.

Yeah, the problem I have with the Holodeck is are the... products?... left behind if you produce something when you're in there?

So your birthday is always pretty close to getting time off for holidays Nilly? That's pretty sweet. But also not near a present giving holiday, which is much less sweet, i've been informed.

Bah. I oversteeped my tea. Then the teabag broke, scattering tea in my cup and over my desk.

Let this be a warning to you all to, um... avoid bad things.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

That's what the holosuites on DS9 were for.

Which is one of the reasons DS9 at its best was one of those shows that essentially was fic.

Happy birthday, Nilly! We share a birthday this year. I am 35 today. I bet Nilly is younger.
