"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I've been looking into the administration's plan to help borrowers because I seriously don't trust it, but I found this.

The administration will also seek to encourage nonprofit programs to aid people facing potential default, helping them refinance mortgages or take other actions before losing their homes

Which cracks my ass up because it's exactly one of the things we do, and yet? We're fundraising like crazy (taking away time from y'know, helping people) because he cut our funding last year.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

he cut our funding last year.

Last year it was hurting normal people. This year, it's hurting his stock portfolio.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I just find very little this administration does to be "encouraging." Though they keep thanking me for doing the job they won't.

Hey, everybody. Just thought I'd check in. Things are going fairly well so far, knock on wood. Just dozed on the couch, am about to eat dinner and get ready to go back into town. Sigh. Anybody want to come down here to go to a high school football game with me?

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Emily! Has you landed a job, then? I have not seen you updating us here, if you have.

Jilli, do not click this [link] and plan on never ever going to Wills Point, TX.

I like the Jilli-scaring-things, and even so, this is a wee bit much.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, you guys know I love jury duty, right? I just got the most annoying jury summons ever -- it's "standby" for any court in the county, and it says I need to start calling in on a certain day. Nowhere did it say how long I had to keep calling in. I had to scour the website and open a 32-page PDF to learn that I could be on call for "up to five days." Which means I have to postpone, because I'm going out of town on the Wednesday of that week. I'm pretty sure when I was in Manhattan, it was two days or one trial (and there was no call-in), but I guess the rules go by county?

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

WTH? It might have to do with the court. Does it give you an address or any indication of the kind of court it is? As in, it says something about civil part, family part, anything like that? You're no longer exempt?

It is with deep regret that we must inform you of the passing of Michael Jackson, the Beer Hunter.

That's too bad. Maybe I'll go out and buy some beer in his honor.
