When we landed here you said you needed a few days to get space worthy again and is there somethin' wrong with your bunk?

My Morning Jacket Report:

My editor at Oxford American really likes my Dan Hicks article. I have to finish my edits this morning. But I will be in their prestigious music issue.

EM reported that she got the full nearly adolescent tap dance from Emmett. "Don't drop me off too close to school. Okay you can come in. On second thought, stop right there."

She noted that she wasn't alone in this new Middle School ritual.

Matilda is being the Destroyer of Sleep.

The Bay Bridge is closed all weekend and I have to drive to freakin' Manteca for Emmett's last tournament of the season. Worse, we've got an 8am game on Saturday. To get there for 7am warmups we'll have to leave at 5:30 am! Scheiss!

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Aw, he's growing up. I remember when I was a freshman in high school my mom dropped me off every morning and she'd wait until I was almost at the door and then honk and wave. Embarrassing! She found it hysterical and did it every day, much to my dismay. Now I'm glad she did cause it's a nice, funny memory.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I was eating my lunch. It was from the same batch of leftovers as yesterday. Now it is gone, and I am sad.

I left to get some pad see eiw. They gave me such a giant serving that it will be lunch tomorrow, and possibly also a snack before I leave for the airport later that afternoon.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am beyond sleepy (painkiller hangover) and don't think I'll get to nap.

GUH-RONK.

When one says Bronze Age, for instance, what order of size is the Age? What age are we in now? Silicon?

Okay, back to meeting. Sitting across the table from boss.

Greeks and Romans?

I think we're still in the Age of Aquarius. Or the Industrial Age.

My boss the ortho nurse suggested I vary my shoes every day and wear 1 1/2 to 2" wedge heels and it has really helped

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I have to drive to freakin' Manteca for Emmett's last tournament of the season.

That's where Ex-Army Brother works. (He lives in Modesto.) That is quite a drive.

I'm only working till 12:30 today because we have tickets to the M's-Angels game at 1:35. This seemed much more exciting 48 hours ago before the M's dropped the first two of the series in embarrassing fashion. Oh well. Maybe Felix will pitch a gem. But probably not. t /Mariners fan pessimism (tm)
