"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Welcome, BigDuluth!

Tiggy, that's horrible. I can't imagine having someone cosign for you and not be totally careful of them. My father-in-law did for us when we bought my first car (I was so young I had no credit at all) and we specifically refinanced when we went into the field to make sure we didn't screw him up.

The ends of people's dates cannot be worse than then end of the SO & my first date. Lo, it is a narrative. But there was screaming and crying and rending of flesh and tearing of hair. And not by me. And not by the SO. O, the drama.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Tell me a thing that made you happy recently.

Hmm, I can think of a few. News of Tom's date. That's really quite excellent. And, second date!

  • Wallybee advancing on me with a Dustbuster in hand intoning "Unclean! Unclean!"

  • Apparently my sister is up the duff. I think intentionally.

  • Visiting Werribee Zoo with Wallybee on Saturday. There was a newborn vervet monkey. That was cool.

  • Learning Chinese. If nothing else, my current level of mastery of the language never fails to make Wallybee laugh. (I'm at the stage of constructing sentences to practise grammar. For instance, to practise sequential sentences I've been translating "First you get the money, then you get the power, then you get the women."

"I am the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world"

The only time I formally asked to take someone out it ended in me remembering the directions but leaving the address. I ended up driving home and back (1hr) armed with an address and for all my troubles being stuck watching Legally Blonde 2. Sometimes at night I wake up screaming...

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Apparently my sister is up the duff. I think intentionally.

"Up the duff"? Please to translate for the insomniac Midwestern Americans? Because I'm thinking it can't possibly be a metaphor for what I think it's a metaphor for.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Knocked up.

Verily, verily doth it mean knocked up. Bun in the oven. In the Alien way.

"I've got a gun! I've got a mother-flippin' gun!" - Moss, The IT Crowd

Much amused at Tep not knowing "up the duff". Funny what phrases miss the Buffista International Hivemind.

Our wings are not tired

The horror movie talk is apt. I'm still in my damned marathon of horror movies. I'm currently watching Friday the 13th part 6. Amazingly this is for work.

Swouncing

Skipping to post that, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is Jen K's birthday. Also, IIRC, she shares her birthday with meara.

Happy birthdays to the both of them! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year!
