We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I spent the afternoon at the Gem and Jewelry show. I did end up finding a pair of earring that might work for the wedding (silver, geometric, with red stones) and a pendant that will definitely work, along with three other pairs of earrings and another pendant that I just liked a lot. I had found everything except for the wedding pendant and was about 80% of the way through the booths and nothing was grabbing me in my price range. I complained about this to a woman working a booth, and when she asked me what my price point was, she pointed to the booth next to hers and said that they had lots of stuff in my range. Sure enough, there I found four different pendants that all were just what I was looking for!

I settled on a pretty 1/2 inch square with different circles and arcs inside it, all sparkly on one side and even pretty on the back with the flat silver look. I was describing it to my sister on the phone tonight, and she suggested putting it on a satin cord, which will really make it pop.

I ended up spending a bit more than I was expecting to, but I hadn't splurged on jewelry in some time, so I was due.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

ita, he was dating Ellen Muth a while back, so no, not really.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Oh, Liese, scary non-brakey! Glad you can get it fixed, though. And yay for starting construction!

Yeah, be careful with those. Chicago doesn't do dog runs anymore - though they do have walks - after a hot weekend a few years ago during the "Bark in the Park" festival that ended in multiple tragedies.

Yeah, we've decided against taking Sam down there. He's pushing 8 years old, is a thick-coated shepherd mix and has mild hip dysplasia, anyway. He'll enjoy the morning with me and the kids in the back yard with the hose and the pool.

paperdol, I forgot to say how sweet the JPLers were!

ita, he doesnn't ping my, admittedly weak, gaydar at all. I've only seen him as Creegan in the US version of Touching Evil. I may have to see him in the eyeliner to judge properly.

Tonight I continued catching up on S5 of The Shield. Eps 4-8. I kept thinking I'd stop so I'd have something to watch tomorrow, but it was unpossible.

And, well, I was accidentally spoiled for The Thing That Happens a while back (actually, before I saw S4), but I'm pretending I'm not spoiled, which is getting more and more difficult as they set more and more of it up. Damn it.

Anyway. Holy crap, Forrest Whitaker. After the first episode I wanted to see him and Vincent D'Onofrio's CI character try to out-weird each other. And hey, Gina Torres! And all the crazy awesomeness. Now I'm all high on good TV.

This weekend I need to deal with some TWoP biz, and maybe, just maybe, catch up on my email. It's supposed to be lousy hot, so that might motivate me to stay home and get some chores done around the house. The bathroom is overdue for a cleaning. Ooh, and I should henna my hair. In fact, I should do that before I clean the bathroom.

And my supervisor asked me what my perfect job (at our company) would be, so I need to come up with an answer to that so that she can do whatever she's plotting.

This has been Strega's brain-dump.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

he was dating Ellen Muth a while back, so no, not really.

Well, JRM claimed to have had a girlfriend, so weird shit happens.

I may have to see him in the eyeliner to judge properly.

He was rocking that and the sleeveless shirts with a great deal of aplomb.

Mostly I just find him disturbing looking. Burn Notice could do with eye candy.

Watched Miller's Crossing yesterday. I remember really liking it, but now I'm not sure why. It was really well done, but...eh. I came out of it feeling there'd been little point. No character arcs, no interesting reveals, nothing. Just some people that did some stuff. I wonder if there's more stuff from my Montreal years that'll disappoint me now.

Probably.

And...I just let myself get irritated so some of the headache I'd drugged away has come back.

::sigh::

At least this from 1990 lives up to my memories. And then some.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Now I'm all high on good TV.

I am familiar with this feeling (most recently, Life on Mars). I love this feeling. Not an easy high to come by, but well worth it.

Baby belly laughs! So funny. Also, who needs toys when you can raid the recycling bin?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Okay, I'm watching Eureka right now and looking at those pics while he's on my tv is just so weird.
