No flooding around me. But a bar stool I had standing about six feet from the windows had a pool of water in the seat when I got home last night, so you can see how strong the rain was.
Naturally, I was up on the roof of the new place with the home inspector during part of this storm last night. Fun!
We just got an official university message about flooded parking on the east side of campus. Meanwhile the two major all-campus events that were supposed to happen have been cancelled. I wonder if they're really going to have Cornfest this year.
This website for the Cornfest 10K race has pictures of the flooded course. (Why the race is cancelled.)
We had dinner at the Zukey Lake Tavern [link] which sits right on Zukey Lake. Watching the storm come across the lake from Chicago was terrifying and thrilling. SHEETS of rain, magnificent lightning, and the click click click of hail.
It was Craxy.
BE CAREFUL, PEOPLE!!
What she said. And stay dry.
I left my windows open yesterday. Luckily, not too much water got in so my Mac Mini didn't drown. Also, which is better: Corn Fest or Bean Fest?
Please to send the rain towards the southeast. Also, be careful.
Yes, please, be careful everybody! NO driving through standing water, for example!
The local stationery store was putting out Christmas cards this week.
Oh I just had a conversation about how the year is flying:
