Punishingly Intricate

Your time - that'll only be midnight for me.

I think I'm done for tonight. I can't focus anymore. I'm just going to send what I've done and hope for the best!

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I listened to y'all while getting dressed to head up to the bar to help Mr. Jane open. When I got there, I was a little put out because I realized it wouldn't be on the jukebox.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

lisah, these are the sentences I'm currently wrestling with:

Bebop subdivided the rhythm until swing was something you did between your ears instead of out on the dance floor. There was a time from the twenties through the mid-forties, though, when swing was "hot rhythm" and moved through every popular music. That's the music that Dan Hicks plays, and there's no one word for it because it wasn't limited to any one genre. Django Reinhardt and the Mills Brothers and Bob Wills and the Boswell sisters and the Modernaires all swung.

Is it a cd-taking kind of a jukebox? I can send you a cd if you wanted.

(and someday, maybe someday soon, our new album will be available! Hopefully for downloading offa our website)

That's the music that Dan Hicks plays,

all I got is that I'd take out the "that" before "Dan Hicks"

words make brain hurt now!

brain goes to bed

Internet. Good on the one hand because I got to download Strange Fruit; bad because I can't make them have y'all on there (or the Peaches that I wanted to hear, but that's another matter).

Huh. Don't know if this was posted here or not, but apparently, in the list of cities with the costliest commutes, Los Angeles doesn't even make the top ten. Cinci does.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

in the list of cities with the costliest commutes, Los Angeles doesn't even make the top ten. Cinci does.

They're rated by percentage of income, not flat numbers -- I imagine that throws LA's curve way off.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Otherwise they (and the friends and family she knows about) are doing okay.

Excellent news.

Yay for secret vacation, Leise!

That sounds like a wonderful vacation, truly!
