Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

A safe port in the storm to ita's peeps. Being one, not needing to find one.

And Dana, selfishly-grateful-but-wary seems like a perfectly sane and normal response to me.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I am watching What Not to Wear and they ambushed the girl at a skating rink and it is MY rink! Stacy and Clinton are sitting in my skating rink. Or at least they did at some point! Cool.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

ita, I hope the storm is of minimal impact to your family & friends & the island itself.

This.

Stacy and Clinton are sitting in my skating rink.

That's awesome!

Punishingly Intricate

My VERY VERY the MOST Chatty furnace salesman who was at my house yesterday said I reminded him of the girl who had been the subject of a What Not to Wear that aired this past Friday. I was like "Uh I hope you mean the After!" but he didn't answer me because he was chatting about something else.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Great. My mother left a message saying distractedly "Call me at the hotel...no, wait, I'll call you back later."

I'm 99% sure there's nothing bad to tell me, just because of how my family communicates. If it were bad news she'd sound chipper or something suitably whiplashy.

Meanwhile, I lie here wishing someone would magic me fresh lemonade. They can even use the lemons and water and sugar I already have here. Just has to be zero effort on my part.

You need a butler-bot.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Hey ita (and others) - ever heard of a restraint technique called the "grape vine"?

[link]

Scroll down a bit to get to the appropriate video.

Lock Someone To A Tree Without Ropes, Chains, Or Any Other Ties

Don't be malicious....A restraint technique used by special forces, the "grape vine" is being demonstrated here for information purposes only. Do not try this unless under the supervision of a qualified person.

Basically, you wrap the victim's legs around a thin tree or poll in a certain way and then use the victim's body weight to lock the legs in that position.
