there's someone with my dad's name listed with a street address and phone number in a local town where I know he's never actually lived, run a business, owned property, or really done anything but drive past on the freeway on his way to my childhood home for Christmas morning breakfas

Dude. That is a little weird. You should let your dad know.

If you search me, it doesn't find some of the stuff Google comes up with, but it does find several of my old addresses (though not the current one, or the one before that), and one page it links to then tells you my age, and my parents' names and my sister's name! (Oddly, no mention of my brother). A little freaky, but no *current* contact info is on there. Huh.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Pipl found my four most recent addresses down to the zip code, and had other listings that included every city I've lived in in the US, including my sojourn in New Orleans.

What the fuck did I do to earn that?

At least none of the people it thinks are related to me are actually kin. That would be weird.

Swouncing

Skipping to post that, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is DebetEsse's birthday.

Happy birthday, DebetEsse! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

That's two nights in a row where I've woken up after some post-apocalyptic dream. Last night it was after some apocalypse and everyone was running out of food. Tonight it was after some nuclear apocalypse and everyone in the community was dying of radiation poisoning.

I don't like apocalypses. I'm going to take a stand and say they're bad.

(Oddly enough these weren't nightmares, where I was dreaming in terror. Just the sad realization that soon we were all going to die, and wondering when my turn would come.)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Pipl's results for me are much the same as Google's, just with the German porn and Heroes fanfic stripped out.

It has no record at all of an unGoogleable childhood friend I've been trying to find, but it did give me his mom's phone #.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Fuck, I'm tired. I had to get up right when my alarm went off, to get in before a 9am meeting, so of course I started waking up an hour before that. Ah well.

hip deep in pie

Happy Birthday DebetEsse!

Pipl found less on me than google. Even when I took away the geographic limitations, there was nothing new. (And nothing on my distant cousin with the same name.)

Trust my rage

I've never watched SPN, but I thought those who do might appreciate this sentence from NOAA.

AN AIR FORCE RESERVE HURRICANE HUNTER AIRCRAFT WILL INVESTIGATE DEAN THIS AFTERNOON.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

For Liese especially -- Dark Roasted Blend did a feature about the Micro Cars, including the model I think she was interested in buying (the mini-pickup!):

If I thought that they could be made street-legal, I'd look into getting one, I could park it in the narrow side yard of my house off the street....
