I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Hey shrift and Jilli - did you see Idolator ranked Patrick Stump as the second-hottest dude in music?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just had an awesome evening of simple pleasures, so I will share. Left work, had Burger King, got a hair cut (got sprayed with water during the shampoo, but even that was mostly funny), went to Trader Joe's where there was not much of a line and a former coworker (the only person I ever run into in NYC), saw a man in a suit playing the digeridoo in the subway station, and then my train pulled up right as I got on the platform. Now I'm eating almonds with dark chocolate and sea salt, which are DELISH. Lovely!

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

saw a man in a suit playing the digeridoo in the subway station

Related: I was walking in Chelsea to meet someone for drinks on Saturday night and I heard a horn, and it was approaching. I turned and saw... a shirtless guy, rollerskating down the street, playing a trumpet. Ah, New York!

brillig

On one of my two visits to New York, I rode the Staten Island Ferry and then hung out outside the ferry terminal to contemplate the Manhattan skyline for a while. (Why didn't I take my camera on that trip, why, why, why)

As I'm leaning on the balustrade, I hear footsteps behind me and glance around. There, escaped from a full color painting, was an elderly Chinese gentleman in a long orange tunic, pale green loose trousers, a brownish coat, slippers, a small round black hat, and a leather satchel over his shoulder. His beard and moustache were long and perfectly white.

He gave me a very stern look for a few seconds, then continued on his way.

I just wanted to chime in and say that both Jilli and Plei are VERY MUCH INVITED to share my bachelorette party with me!!! I would love to NOT be the center of attention, and I can't think of any two people I'd rather share with!

My book club party went very well. Three people out of eight couldn't make it, and I still barely had enough food. We all loved last month's book (Garlic and Sapphires by Ruth Reichl) - we gave it 3.5 stars (out of 4).

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Holy crap! THAT'S MY THERAPIST! That's the therapist that helped Bec and me during our marriage breakup! Bec and TOG are in that group! (Not Clem and Marie, of course.)

OK, that's freaky. It's a damn small world.

Holy shit! That's so freaky!!!! Wow.

I found that article super depressing when I read it, Sunday. I wasn't sure what it really told me about relationships, though.
