Hey, preaching to the choir. I thought our Lady of the Perpetual Sea Breeze was the real deal until the Divine Miss J walked right through that door and right into my ass—which is where my heart is…physiologically. I could show you an x-ray.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Hmmm.

Once she stopped being mad about the going to dark side thing, that might be a good thing.

Use gmail, not work.

You never gave me work.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I did have to reject many of his suggestions -- like not having chairs at the ceremony for the guests

We didn't. Everybody brought their own.

Seconding what everyone said about not feeling bad, Susan. Every other weekend I see people who either don't know and are afraid to ask, or people who think they know and so they don't ask. The latter usually fares a little worse. Usually when our speakers get up and start talking, hands starts going up.

Insent, Weepy.

Once she stopped being mad about the going to dark side thing, that might be a good thing.

P.H. and I are like soooo close now. And by close I mean, "I'm still totally intimidated even though we sit on Boards together and she sends me interns." If MWu gets that job I just told you about in email, she'll be in a good position to help you out!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

YAY.

She could! I'm not sure I would want to work there, but she could.

Punishingly Intricate

I am having a stupidly stressy day.

aw poor you! I hope the hair cut is super relaxing!

that reminds me I need to schedule my b'day massage!!! Last year's was The Most Hungover Massage Ever. I don't think this year's will be though.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Right?! Hopefully no one else here read that article, or it's just me whose relationship is doomed in the future through no fault of my own.

she could

You might not want to work there, but I got the feeling that she'd be in a good geographic location to throw her weight around for you.

Then again, the starting salaries for Reference Librarians there were much, much higher than those at Berkeley, so if there was a middle management job you could do well there (with that kind of salary, those benefits and pension). Of course, she's a workaholic, and she might make you work, too.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hopefully no one else here read that article

I'm trying, but it's long! But I have no relationship to fear for, so I figure it's reasonable.
