Wesley: Hey. Hey, Gunn. Is something weird going on? … Charles, you just peed on my shoes. Gunn: I'll be damned. That's weird.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

If I can get my principal to agree, I can take a detached service leave which means I remain a district employee and keep my benefits but still get my new job. I am hoping that will pan out.

That would be nice. I think you are due some good karma.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

sara, is this like a work anniversary gift? Can you ask for a nice card and a gift certificate to some place like trader joes or target instead? I'm cheap like that.

I'm guessing it's one of those catalog things, where you pick your gift from a certain selection. Not usually a lot of wiggle room with those, but couldn't hurt to try.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Burrell, are you back home? Did I miss my chance to see you?

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I have to say BofA handled our stolen bank card exceptionally well. Credited the account, sent us a new card, everything. Just got the resolution letter today, but I'm going to call them to see if they caught the person because we're willing to testify if so.

Y'all, I had something happen on Saturday that makes me so wistfully happy I don't even know what. I got home from the pool to a package from my uncle with my grandfather's engraved Louisiana Peace Officer's Association zippo from when he was president in 1970.

I'm all misty that the only two things I wanted to remember them by were handed over with no fuss and much love.

Sorry Lee, we're back home. I'm bummed we didn't get to see you, but by the end the kids were cranky so our social plans for HMB devolved into let-kids-jump-on-the-cousins.

Punishingly Intricate

sarameg, I think if you have to pick one of those and none are what you'd really want, pick the one you'd be most likely able to regift with a good conscience.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I worked as a temp in BofA's fraud department once. It was fun reading some of the cases. It seemed most causes of fraud were boyfriends, sons or grandsons of the card holder stealing the card and using it. Quite often the card was, say, in a checkbook that had the PIN number written down on it.

My fave cases were the ones where the cardholder knew who stole the card, but refused to testify against them or file a police report. BofA would not refund money stolen from the account in these cases.
