You know, I just... I woke up, and I looked in the mirror, and I thought, hey, what's with all the sin? I need to change. I'm... I'm dirty. I'm, I'm bad with the... sex and the envy and that, that loud music us kids listen to nowadays.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I might have been a jerk on the bus this morning, what with a whole slew of seats being taken up by bags and nobody moving them so I could sit down until I got a little testy. And they were all, "You just had to ask!"

I call bullshit on those people. The impetus is not on you to get them to move the bags, it's on them to fucking move them! In NYC that could get them a fine, I believe. Maybe just on the subway?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, I think "You just had to ask." translates to "I'm completely inconsiderate and resent the fact that you called me on it and therefore am going to transfer the blame to you in order to preserve my finely honed sense of entitlement."

I call bullshit on those people.

I won't put any of my bags on the seat next to me until after the bus goes express and no one else will be getting on it. I just don't like it when people make me school them before I've had coffee.

Our wings are not tired.

Yep, what Liese said.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

A lot of people are in morning fog themselves, so it's just possible that some of them forgot to move the stuff. But that's not the way to bet, just to provide some polite social fiction to ask if they've forgotten.

t /miss manners-lite

Instead of thinking about the myriad ways in which people suck, I'm going to contemplate what I'm having for lunch.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I made the Blackberry Cobbler from Pioneer Woman Cooks yesterday. Haven't tasted it yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

My car is pissing me off. Not that it's anyone's fault but mine, but I have to have three things done to it, two at the mechanic and one at the body shop, and it doesn't look like I can combine the two mechanic visits, but will have to have the body shop visit inbetween. Annoying amount of car rental or just plain sitting around.

In the meanwhile I have driving to do with low oil pressure and it's freaking me out. I wonder if I can go today during the work day.

I'm eating a muffin... whitey.

I just got back on Saturday from a seven-day driving tour down to No. Fla. (Lake City, then over to Pensacola) to visit my ailing aunties. On the way back, though, we took a different route, up through Alabama, Georgia (different parts than I'd seen before), Tennessee, Virginia, and about ten minutes (literally) in W. Virginia. So much prettier of a drive! Rolling foothills and stuff. Lovely. I'd never been in Tennessee before. I waved to Matt and tiggy as we drove through.

Good to be home.

Now tagless for your comfort.

We're having peanut butter & jelly. Owen's choice today.

I want some of that cobbler.
