There used to be one good Ethiopian restaurant in Chicago but it moved to Evanston.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Ras Dashen is v. good. In Uptown. There's also Ethiopian Diamond right down the street and it's good, too, but I like Ras Dashen better.
Kat - congratulations!
Are you able to check out insurence stuff for UCLA via their website? I mean, it's a state org so surely it's all there, right? Or possibly has links to the right places.
DC is fullllll of Ethiopian restaurants. Most within about a mile of me. Come visit! :)
And there's a great one right down the street from my new place. If I ever move in, at least. Argh. At this point, I'm halfway ready to just say to hell with it.
That sucks Vortex.
It's the same insurance company that I currently have. I wonder if I can just call and ask?
Noah has been king of the bodily fluids today. 30 minutes before I left for my interview, he pooped all over himself, the couch and me (in my interview clothes). It was typical and somewhat expected, but seriously.
Hey, my power animal is the Naked Mole Rat! Sweet!
Woah! That is so cool.
That's not fair! I got giant octopus but wanted naked mole rat, or, if possible, the three toed sloth.
I would've been very happy with the giant octopus myself. Smartest invertebrates in the world and all that. Though the three-toed sloth would be excellent too. You have algae growing on you!
ita, that comic led me to this one, which sent me into gales of laughter that I can't explain to the co-workers.
This is the one that set me off: [link]
I've also sent email to Someone I Know Who Is Very Famous, because Pete told me that I HAD TO let that person know about the Yahoo thing.
Is it Neil Gaiman? I think Neil Gaiman should know.
I thought I was being adventurous and enjoying sushi until I found out I was just eating the pickled ginger.
I like sushi, but still think pickled ginger is the best part. And I'm not even all that fond of ginger. Never tried pickled okra. The thing is, I can't stand the texture of okra. Does pickling get rid of the slime ? (Whitefonted for my own squick factor. I don't know about anyone else's.)
Yes pickling gets rid of that! Pickled okra is my number two all time favorite Bloody Mary garnish. (Pickled green beans are #1.)
