It's my estimation that... every man ever got a statue made of him, was one kind of sumbitch or another.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

You don't go upside down until level two. The move we did was called the Firefly, which cracked me up, but I wasn't in quite the right crowd to share the hilarity (but you can bet I did, with a fellow Firefly fan who's pretty stripper knowledgeable himself, as soon as I got home). This is the midpoint of it--you're spiralling down the pole and when you get to the bottom you pull yourself back up to standing ass-first.

We did it from a standing position, and from a walking with one hand on the pole position.

I had more fun than the people I went with, but I think pole dancing's more me than it is them.

It would totally rock to find a pole dancing instructor who wanted private krav lessons. Barter, baby, barter.

For the course, the web site says to pick out three songs to dance to, so of course nothing but playlists has been running through my head for the past hour.

But I doubt I'll sign up, just because I'm operating on such limited psychic resources right now.

eta: Thanks for the cartoon link! That's a total flashback to...not even sure to when.

Punishingly Intricate

The cat came back / He couldn't stay away / He was sitting on the porch / The very next day.

hah! that was totally going through my head after he, you know, came back.

I did enjoy my drinks w/ dinner. We went to a place my friend had to review for her job and it was almost totally empty. Depressing except not because the two guys who were working were hilarious. Neither of them was a waiter ("the server didn't show") and we ended up getting free shots of vodka w/ our tiramisu and the one very cute manager was flirting w/ me in a way that even I could identify as flirting. Just what I needed!

Pole dancing is not really a thing in b'more, yet. Sounds like something I'd like though! (eta mostly because I like the going upside down thing!)

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Huh. I didn't know that move had a name.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Yeah Swifty being back.

I am so exhausted. I don't have the will to go on.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Thanks for the birthday wishes.

Swifty, don't scare your humans like that again! They worry about you!

Damn it. Clicking around on youtube has given me one more thing to wish I were younger and healthy for.

Not that I didn't have a million reasons, but poledancing is now on that list.

{{Kat}} I'm so sorry this is all so hard.

Tim Cox - Buffy: Anya, that thing you created burst through solid pavement and ate her dog. Anya (anguished): Oooh, puppy!

Hi, I'm Tim. Kinda new here. It's a lot different than most Buffy sites that have tons of threads going at once. There doesn't happen to be an introduction thread anywhere, right?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Enter your name here [link] and it tells you stuff....

Your personal power animal is the Nine-banded Armadillo

Your 'Numerology' number is 7. If it wasn't bulls**t, it would mean that you are spiritual, eccentric, and a bit of a loner. Introspective and analytical, you think deeply and prefer seclusion.

Huh. Pretty right-on, except for the spiritual part. Although I suppose "think deeply" could mean many different things. So could "eccentric."

Also, nine-banded armadillos rock!

Yeah, people just show up and introduce themselves.

Anyway... greetings, buffysmglover, and all that....
