I found out the hard way that Chumley really will jump out an open window if he gets a chance. Either on purpose, or he jumped up on the sill and expected to hit a screen that wasn't there.

I've been lucky with these cats, they are brothers, in that they've never had much interest in escaping to the great outdoors. This is the longest either of them has been missing.
