My god! To me, the second bus would have been a sign that someone doesn't want me going where I was going, and I would have went home.

Agreed. Someone's indicating it's time to take a sick day or something.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

Second bus caught on FIRE on Lakeshore Drive as we were approaching the Magnificent Mile.

My god! To me, the second bus would have been a sign that someone doesn't want me going where I was going, and I would have went home.

Seriously.

"Yeah, I'm not going to be in today."

"Why ever not?"

"Evidently, the gods are actively trying to kill me. I'm going to hide in a hole and change my name. Maybe convert to a new religion. Or *a* religion."

Our wings are not tired

Yeah that's time to skip work and say it was due to an act of god and you can't be held responsible.

I think I'll avoid using any sort of transport in the midwest. It seems awfully fraught.

Our wings are not tired

I'll just avoid the Midwest.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

What they said, shrift. You are a braver woman than I, carrying on all the way to work. On a Friday. In the summer.

To me, the second bus would have been a sign that someone doesn't want me going where I was going, and I would have went home.

Need all the vacation time I can earn, unfortunately. Also, by the time I shower, dress, put on makeup, and get downtown, might as well go to work. Job not hard. Has A/C and internets. Even brought lunch and caffeine with me.

Were these buses you were on?

Yes. Am cursed.

Have coffee now. Am taking goddamn train home. Will probably derail.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Have coffee now. Am taking goddamn train home. Will probably derail.

You know you're just paying your pre-con dues, right?

Swouncing

Skipping and poking head for a second before shabbat to post that, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is Deena's birthday.

Happy birthday, Deena! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I'm saying NO to derailing trains. For the record.

Got up at 4:30 AM and went to the usual 5:30 AM breakfast. K and I took Noah with, but forgot the diaper bag. Thank god CVS is open; I bought some ready-to-eat formula in nursing bottles which I normally carry. He of course ate like 10 ccs of it then fell asleep. But better to have food at the ready than not.

The upside to having to go to CVS so early is that I also bought the toothpaste we needed. YAY!

eta Happy birthday Deena!
