I'm watching The Nine. I've forgotten an awful lot. These flashbacks are the cover story they made up? Or some of them, anyway?

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Nutty, when I badly stubbed a toe a while back -- it was spectacularly bruised for about two weeks after -- I definitely gained in pain relief from buddy taping, and a timely talk with a health-advice nurse over the phone persuaded me to try that instead of a :: koff :: walk-in clinic.

Speaking of nurses and health insurance, it turns out that I may have screwed up my COBRA coverage -- I need to call my ex-HR tomorrow and see if they have any leverage. Otherwise it won't be until 9/1 that I can pick up individual coverage for myself. SIGH

Yes, Kat, yes it does! I wanna buss those awesome cheeks of his. You are looking great, too. And he so has your mouth.

I'm making stupid noises at the screen now.

I managed to a)program my brother's number in b) put it on speed dial c) call him and d) answer when he called back. I think that counts as success. Man, the screens annoy me. Can't they just supply a freaking blank one?

Of course, I called him when he was trying to go to bed. There was a loud running documentary from D in the background. He's not having much success at going to bed.

Still grumpy about having a cell now. I mean, it'll be nice to have while I'm away, and next time I take a trip. But I resent it. I may have issues.

-t, The Nine talk what do you mean cover stories? i don't think any of it was a cover story. the writers have been pretty consistent about giving us the real story about what happened in the flashbacks being true.

Also, I've belatedly realized that I can't go to Vividcon after all. I would have to turn around from my trip to the family reunion far too soon (like, leave during the afternoon) in order to get back to Boston to the airport, and it's not going to work, not to mention that I need to conserve the money I'm going to be spending on increased health insurance premiums. Which is really, sincerely, Stupidity Tax of the most sincere kind.

The Nine: I had thought that I remembered some previous episode had them concocting a story to tell the investigators, I can't even remember why. I think I've forgotten everything I knew about what was going on in this show and have made stuff up.

why did you get a cell?

I'm going to Alabama on Saturday to take care of the nephews for a week. My brother doesn't have a landline. I'm a little scared of being in charge of a 4.5 year old and a 12 week old without some way of calling out in an emergency, or just getting a hold of their parents.

So if you get a call from a 443 area code, it's me seeking adult conversation after D has melted my brain with preschooler logic.

Grace looks so stoic and ticked. Poor noodle.

A landline is one of those things that we don't have at the house, but I think we might need to get. Did you know that if you call 911, it's significantly better to do it from a landline as the response time is much faster since they can locate you?

Where are your SIL and bro going?

Poor Grace indeed.
