I read this article in the NYTimes About Urban Guerrilla Explorers. People who sneak into abandoned factories and underground tunnels.

It's a fascinating subject and I've looked at many websites since I first heard of the phenomenon on a TAL episode.

Anyway, following links in the article you can find some amazing photos.

My favorite urban explorer, though, was the guy in Toronto who wrote a long piece about how to sneak into hotel swimming pools for free. That was very cool.

I think this is a good point, and why the dress code affects women in a seemingly unfair way. Also because sexiness is less of an issue with men in the office.

So much less. I can think of precisely one example in all my working life where a guy's clothing was of note along these lines... one attorney had a pair of particularly snug white jeans he'd wear on Fridays.

And I think if they hadn't caused us to question his sexuality (there was just something gay about the white jeans and he was one of those guys who never shut up about chicks) the, um, "package enhancing" would not have been noteworthy on its own.

One of the students at the theatre has done a lot of exploring in my area. I think some of his pictures are here but it is a fairly secretive thing. I thought it seems fascinating, and would have loved to do it, but I was assured that I was not at all physically fit enough.

I remember the Rochester Psychiatric Center. It's creepy.

Yeah, abandoned mental hospitals have a special creepy factor, I think. So many people were basically tortured in them.

My fav is the guy who parachuted off the Empire State Building and eluded police on the ground simply by hopping in a cab.

The more I think about it, the more I'm boggled by the guy who walked a highwire between the Twin Towers. The winds must have been so high up there.

women can choose to wear a uniform like wardrobe though, plain colored pants or skirt and polo shirts is what some women do wear everyday.

In many ways, my summer wardrobe is a uniform. I have multiples of dresses in the same style; the only thing that is different about them is how much and what sort of trimmings are on them. And my skirts are all the same basic shape/style, just in different fabrics, trims, and amount of ruffles.

Tom, they are demolishing a lot of that right now, and it sort of makes me sad. I like the old buildings and wish we could keep some of them. "They" have also knocked down a lot of homes in not-so nice neighborhoods and put up really shiny, cheap, affordable houses that are now falling apart. It seems like it would be just as easy to fix up the old, sturdy houses, but what do I know
