Today I'm wearing stripey pajama pants and a white t-shirt. No bra. But I am unemployed for 2 more weeks and slounging around at home.

I have a couple guayabera-like shirts that I wear to work. Again, nobody has ever scolded me. Probably because a blue and white shirt with black slacks and black loafers isn't ridiculous.
"Ok, this skirt and this top...wait...doesn't match. Where's the matching top?
This is why I wear all black all the time. Okay, not really, but it does make that whole issue a lot less stressful.
I worked with a woman who had 3 pairs of the same style black pants and 3 pairs of the same style grey pants. That is virtually all she wore to work year round.
Yup, plain slacks, a few button down shirts in solid colors to rotate, I'm good to go. Shoes? Nikes.
But I'm fasion impaired, according to most people.
I feel like, with a woman, that this seems more like making a statement and the other women would point and laugh.
Speaking only for myself (since I am essentially that woman) - huh? What statement? Nobody's ever pointed or laughed at me either.

Not only yourself.

In the advertising firm where I used to work it would be considered "not trying" and "dull." Not that that's right. But, this is the same place where while interviewing accountants, boss lady asked me "Does he/she look like one of us?"

my problem is that my blacks don't match. I need to just dye the lot of it.
I kinda get what Sophia is saying. For me, I don't like wearing the same shoes two days in a row. Even if I have them in two different colors. Same with anything else. When I was at TPG, and the dress code was a lot stricter, I lived in Old Navy Essential Trousers. Had them in every color and 3 pairs in black. But I never wore any of them back to back. Didn't want the other women who had more money thinking I was broker than them and couldn't afford the Ann Taylor and Larry Levine suits. Total carryover from not having the right clothes in high school.

Same here. And it drives me nuts if I'm wearing a blue black with a brown black. Or a faded black with a true black. Hate hate hate.
I am so totally clothes OCD.
