Night, billytea!

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Registering for pole dancing in another window
That sounds really cool. And I'll bet it builds some crazy muscles.
Our favorites are: Sprechter's (traditional out of Wisconsin I think),
Ooooh. The really yummy custard place sells that stuff, and makes rootbeer floats out of it if you want.
one of my favorite soft drinks is the ginger ale available at Big Bowl restaurants here in Chicagoland--real ginger infused in fizzy soda water, yum!
ooh. This is only yummier when there's fresh limes involved....
(and I am not left handed, and I can't find a proper way to insert a "Princess Bride" joke here, alas).
I adore Nilly.
And I AM left-handed. And eat with my fork in my left hand. And knife in my right. And dont' switch.
nother trivial thing that bugs me - people who drive convertibles with the top down but the windows up. It's aesthetically wrong!
Yes, but sometimes it makes all the difference in how much the wind is annoying! (Oh, or what Kat said)
but, ita, you don't want to date.
That doesn't mean I can't make sarcastic comments about my dateability, does it?
ita, are you taking an S Factor class?
Yep. If I decide to go on with it I might sign up somewhere different, but for intro classes in the next month (M's leaving at the end of August) they have the most convenient class.
Grapefruit Yay/Cilantro?
Megan E
I am cilantro YAY!
Pole dancing classes crack me up.
Ok,
Cilantro - Yummmmy!
Grapefruit - too bitter
Olives - Yes, please!
Root Beer - don't like carbonation
Bagel - prefer English muffins
Bacon - Yummy
Tomatoes - Absolutely. Preferred with fresh cheese, basil, salt and pepper, drizzled with olive oil.
Love all seafood save salmon
Pineapple on pizza - don't like ham, so rarely have, but it's fine
Beer - see above re:carbonated
Scotch - Good lord yes! It's all I ever drink.
Tequila - Yep. Preferrably the peppery kind.
Fernet - Is good.
Sleep - stomach or back. Side hurts my hips
Fork - whichever hand I grab it with
Watch - don't wear one
Both handed
Bacon pancakes, people. Burrell had some. I had a taste. OMG. It's heavenly heart horror.
Never had them, but sounds awesome. You can skip the step of cutting your bacon. Not that I wouldn’t order them with a side of bacon.
Octopus and calamari? Most definitely, but it must be cooked in such a way that it's not rubbery. Grilled with a little salt and lemon is delish.
Oh, I should take you to this restaurant in the new ‘hood. I had a fantastic salad with grilled calamari and pesto dressing.
I wonder how the difference came about. FTR, I use a fork and knife European style.
Me too, if I’m eating something that does not require cutting, I eat American style.
Pineapple on pizza – yay
When did yay start equaling wrong? :)
Love all seafood save salmon
Freak! Salmon is the bestest seafood. After lobster and crab.
Of the foods mentioned, I think the only one I actively dislike is non-ruby-red grapefruit. And I look back with sorrow and regret on my high school and college years, when my younger brother used to sell cases and cases of ruby reds to raise funds for school groups, and I would always flinch away and wail, "No! It's grapefruit! It's hideous!" Cases and cases of ruby reds in the garage for three years, wasted.
Which is why I compulsively re-taste even the foods I know I don't like, because what if this time they're delicious and I have to mourn all those years I wasted not eating them?
Re: olives, an amazing local grocery chain has olive bars, with big bowls of 15-20 different kinds of olives. Sampling is not encouraged but is tolerated; every time I go, I taste a different one, and the only bad olive I've ever had was a green olive stuffed with bleu cheese. That was nast, and that was the only nast one in nearly four decades of olive-gorging.
I'm right-handed but wear no watch at all. I had a lovely wristwatch in college, with a nice tiny little face with the Mona Lisa on it, and since it broke I've never found another that felt right. I do occasionally wear the cocktail watch my Papou gave my YiaYia for their somethingth anniversary, which I love, but it's all engraved and delicate and much too sentimental to bring out into the rough coarse world too often.
I have a friend from Hungary who refused to touch root beer for the first five years she was here, saying it tasted exactly like carbonated medicine. Just over the past few months she's sheepishly admitted to beginning to acquire a taste for it, and she will occasionally drink it on purpose now, though she hasn't yet dared to try a float. I figure it is to her what Fernet is to the rest of us.
billytea and Nilly! I don't even have anything to say, I'm just crazy happy to see both your fonts!
Lastly, Matilda: still cute. Also still waking up at death o'clock in the morning. Right now she's sitting on the floor under my chair munching on a bit of bagel and grumbling cheerfully to herself.
